I'm opening this thread to discuss Stéphane's new program and activities in Japan this summer, and post reports if you go to see him.
I'll be going with moshecoco to the Saturday afternoon COI show in Niigata. I'm so excited!!! I think that is the first time Stéphane will skate his new "Un Giorno Por Noi" program, right?
There will be 3 shows in Niigata - 2 on Saturday June 16th, and one on Sunday June 17th.
From moshecoco - As of now, the Niigata COI will feature: Stephane Lambiel Daisuke Takahashi Johnny Weir Takeshi Honda Viktor Petrenko Shizuka Arakawa Fumie Suguri Surya Bonaly Shen/Zhao Inoue/Baldwin Denkova/Staviski Anisina/Peizerat
Originally I was supposed to work Saturday and have Sunday off, so moshecoco got tickets to the Sunday show. But today I found out the schedule changed, so I have to work Sunday - but I get Saturday off instead. So.... if you need 2 tickets for the Sunday show, please send a PM to moshecoco.

Swissmiss, thank you for the new thread. Phewww, this is my first post in sooo long since I've been busy with this or that. I've been following Stephane's latest news and videos, of course!
As swissmiss said, I've got a pair of COI tickets for June 17 Sunday show. They're in the "SS" category, East Block, Row 19. Not bad, I guess. Anyone want that? Warning: I'm posting to some other ticket sell-and-buy MBs and it's "first come, first served." If you want those tickets, pleas send a PM to me ASAP.
I can't wait to see Steph's new EX program. And I'm looking forward to see you again, swissmiss!
OLYMPUS presents "THE ICE" July 29 (Sun) - 2 shows July 30 (Mon) - 2 shows at Nagoya Morikoro Park
Skaters: Miki Ando, Mao Asada, Yukari Nakano, Mai Asada, Mirai Nagasu Stephane Lambiel, Daisuke Takahashi, Nobunari Oda, Takahiko Kozuka Shen/Zhao (This is subject to change. Other skaters are to be added)
Is Stephane gonna leave Japan after July 16 DOI show and come back in just 10 days for this one? Wow, he must be racking up some mileage with whichever airline he uses between Switzerland and Tokyo...
Unfortunately I can't go to this show because I'll be having a vacation in -- ta da -- SWITZERLAND!! Yaaay!!!
By the way, Team Japan will train in Italy until July 26th. Many of them'll have just finished DOI, fly to Italy, do training sessions and a gala show there, fly back to Japan and appear in a gala in Nagano on 28th and "The Ice" show on 29th-30th. Some of them will fly to Taiwan for PIW tour during the first week of August. Okay, now the Japanese federation is officialy trying to kill them...

Lucky Japanese! - One more occasion to enjoy Stéphane perfoming live! - You are spoiled ! (and for us "foreigner" perhaps the chance that one of his shows will be broadcasted and a good soul will post a vid at AS )

Or - he'll go inbetween to a show in the States and comes back to Japan?
(I guess also much better to return from Japan to Switzerland then from the States because it causes you usually less jetlag problems to travel from east to west then reverse .)

Unfortunatley I can't go to this show because...

That's so exiting!! -
and therefore
Hope the best you will enjoy every minute in our country as you are coming from so far East - and Switzerland shows the sunny side so that you will get a lot of good souvenirs!

Does anyone happen to know when Stéphane is flying to Japan? I get in to Narita next Thursday afternoon, and I just had the crazy thought he might be flying in at the same time.
I'll post the COI report here, but I'll resurrect the "Magical Ladybug Tour" thread to report the rest of my adventures: http://absoluteskating.proboards37.com/i....57878482&page=6 (Somehow, it turned into the "let's all go to Sweden for Worlds" thread. )

About 15 hours to go before the show starts!

I got to Japan just fine on Thursday afternoon. A Swiss/Lufthansa flight from Zurich landed at the same time, at the next gate over. I remembered thinking this crazy thought the other day, so I hung back a bit to see if maybe Stéphane was on that plane. If so, it would be the perfect time to give him the scrapbook - I had it in my computer bag. But no dice. Everyone from the Seattle and Zurich flights went through passport control, baggage claim, and customs together. He definitely wasn't on that plane, unless they snuck him off some other way. At least I know I didn't miss him.

I just got back from Niigata - with some breaking news:
Stéphane didn't perform "Un giorno por noi" today. He performed "Poeta", wearing Antonio's vest and pants (no shirt) and Viktor Petrenko's skates.
Why, you ask? Because BRITISH AIRWAYS LOST HIS LUGGAGE!!! Everything - his skates, costume, street clothes, personal items, and the CD with the music. The announcer said he thought about withdrawing, but he didn't want to let down his fans. He did about a 2-minute warmup before starting, while the announcer explained what was going on (in Japanese - moshecoco translated it for me). Just before he started skating the announcer said - the only thing said in English - "Thank you, Stéphane, for skating under these circumstances."
Then he came on and skated the program perfectly. This kid never ceases to amaze me. As someone said on another thread, "It's Stéphane, anything's possible."
I didn't get to talk to him in person or even get someone to give him the book, so I still have it. But I did leave my other gift in the box for him (the custom here in Japan) - a plush toy 747 airplane to match the 777 I gave him at last year's COI. After hearing what happened, I wish I could give him a real airplane!
I'm very tired and sweaty from all the traveling and the heat today, so I really need to go take a shower and go to bed. I have to work early tomorrow morning - my company didn't send me all the way over here just to see Stéphane!
More details on the show tomorrow....
Love, sm
PS - I should probably re-think going to Sweden for Worlds. This makes two times in a row that I've gone to see him when the airline he flew on lost his skates.

Kat thanks a bunch. You are always thinking about some bored poor little things and bringing us some news. Quote:

The question is will they broadcast , coz I'm dying to see this Quote:

Precisely as he said in his message. Quote:

What a brilliant idea! Quote:

Poor Stephane, this seems to always happen to him and I know of other skaters that it has happened to too I know it has to be frustrating. I'm glad he was able to stick with it and not withdraw
