Like promised here some of my thoughts
.
I attended the Saturday evening show. As it was the first time that I've seen an AoI-show in Zurich already this fact meant a lot to me
.
In the entrance hall of Hallenstadion the new AoI picture book was promoted and I had already a nice talk with the lady there in advance of the show.
The show itself: Like goldguegi already spoke out:
I would have loved a tiny bit more skating and a bit less other show acts.
It was a bit too much clownery as intermission. Saying this I will not diminish what the "clown" himself did. He was brilliant too. However I was more pleased with the kind of intermission on "Worlds Best on Ice" in December 2009.
The motorcycle show is a special one and really impressing, no doubt about that and it fitted perfectly in the the theme of Eisgala Davos "American Dreams" with I attended. However for my taste this number was fitting not so well into the contest of the anniversary show as an entire work of art...
What I liked - even liked a lot:
* The actor in the function as speaker with his well pronounced and elaborate words. Gave the whole show a classy touch.
* In the beginning of the show David Garrett appeared already while all the skater have been presented in a very nice way to his music after this I was even more looking forward skaters performing to his music.
* . As usual Plushenko showed a very solid and nice 4T-3T! I'm not a huge fan of his. But for this he is deserves really credit
! I bit disappointed that Plushenko skated "only" to his LP and Ex music and has not prepared at least one number to live music. (The rest of his program - not quite the same as in competition but not that fare away either. IMO his skating was overall not in the same powerful presence like I experienced in Tallinn. Perhaps I got this impression thanks to my seat. It was a real good seat however on a total different place then I sat in shows in the past. And by attending already quite some shows and competition I have found out that depending on the layout of a venue you get sometimes an astonishing different impression only due to where you are sitting
. So it was nice for me to try out this time a new angle of view!)
*I loved also performance of the "Rhön"-wheel artist!
*Stéphane's zebra:
I was trying to film it for you girls here. However I made a handling mistake with our newer photo-camera
... And the result is not what I expected.
As I saw already some glimpse of this "new" zebra version on TV, which I didn't like that much there, my expectations haven't been too high. Luckily the zebra was live much better then what I expected!
I agree to those who had said that as Vivaldi's music was a bit differently interpreted by Garrett and his band then we are used from the past. However as people have alert this already I got not distracted by this fact. It was not the best "zebra" I saw from Stéphane till yet. But it was nice to see one more time zebra and to be reminded of past times.
* "In your eyes" - Already in advance of the performance Anastacia introduced this song and Stéphane's skating very warmly and touching. The performance itself: I'm missing the correct words. Like Nadin already said so nicely: the chemistry between Anastacia and Stéphane is really a special one. It's not like the superstar Anastacia is performing on stage and the skater's performance is just like an excellent topping of the performance of the superstar. It was waaaaaaaay more! It's like they are very old and longtime best friends who have shared already a big part of their lives together in good as in bad times and will continue their live together and are both of the same level. There was a specially harmony between Anastacia and Stéphane on stage which was unique and made both of their performances so splendid, sparkling and full of vibes.
Hard to find the correct words!
Anastacia in skates in the rink at the end of the show was one more nice moment!
Too bad the show was so quick finished. At least I could have re-watched and re-watched and... Too bad I have not a money making machine which would allow me to buy tickets for several shows for my family and me. On the other hand: I like to be grateful to have been able to attend this show in Zurich! And I confess, I'm getting year by year more found of AoI shows!
