Lots Of hearty thanks - to Pia and serenityblue - for the videos, to marni - for her exciting stories' to efosko, lambiels, pia - for the articles links! I've been mastering the art of voting - it's such a fun! ;D Thank you everybody for tips! Magic Touch - oh, I liked the dance (all the blame goes to TV ) Yes, there were two singles with jumps to which some Olympic champion might be envious. They had very good rhythm together and kept a jolly mood for all the song. I'd rather prefer the arrangement from YouTube that was sent to this thread a few days ago though... Steph was gorgeous with his smile and quad. Shizuka was right: he's a leader in expression side of their number, and I quite agree with Katarina Witt's remark about her to try being the Diva next time. We'll see Freefall, hannaruth - there wasn't any hip-hop yet, it's going to be with beyonce's song. Marni, and how does the list of contenders look after the first night? Serenityblue, if it's possible, it would be so nice to have videos of other couples, too. Thanks in advance!

Thank you very much ladies for sharing all the videos, impressions and other links! Here to download the mp4 file(big thanks to the uploader, princessyuna1990!) www.mediafire.com/?2l2gvnw1mnjLooks like both Steph and Shizuka had fun. And what, quad?If he continues like this and Plushy is absent next season, people might think quadruple toeloop is banned for eligible competitions but okay to do as a pro. lol It's the first time I see two people claim each other 'a diva', both so positively. ;D (But of course, for a typical oriental lady, a latin man IS a diva and vice versa) Stephane kept spinning a bit longer than Shizuka, kind of showing off. The lady sitting next to me literally GASPED when she saw Stephane up close right in front of us and clutched her friends arm, saying "he's SO much more handsome in person!". I think she then collapsed into Stenhal syndrome. haha, yep, that's how it works! ;D he sneaks up on you unsuspectingly and then suddenly you're under his spell and you can never get free anymore ;D I second this.

Serenityblue, if it's possible, it would be so nice to have videos of other couples, too. Thanks in advance! That's my project for today. It was just nearly 3am before and I wanted to get a bit of sleep. Thanks all for the thoughts on the live performance. I've decided that it was the cameras' faults and am excited for the Sunday show. I think Shizuka and Stephane just ended up thinking about the show in a different way than the others, and that confused the judges. (My head supplied the analogy that everyone else was doing great Broadway love songs and they were doing "Anything You Can Do (I can do better)". Not certain that makes sense to anyone but me, but I also now think that would be a really fun song for two single skaters to do for a show, so I thought I'd share.)

Is there a way to watch the whole show at once somewhere, not just the loose performances?

Is there a way to watch the whole show at once somewhere, not just the loose performances? There wasn't really a lot more than the videos that have been posted... only endless commercials and loose performances

Thank you so much for finding the links to the other skaters as well!!! Is it just me, or do others find the programs slightly boring as well? With all the 'pairs' I dont see or feel any real connection between them. And I expected to see a lot more skating skills instead of half empty programs... maybe Im spoiled with show programs as NMQP. on the up-side: the quad of stephane was pretty cool...! ha. And the idea of the program is nice. Maybe the skaters will get better over time. xoxo

However it might have worked better if Steph and Shae were partners. They seem perfectly capable of putting on a show for a camera!!! Lol! I wished that too when I first learned who would skate with whom - they had got along so well at Festa on Ice . They are very similar in character - lively, creative. They would have definitely ROCKED them all off ;D. Pity that they were not paired with one another. But Shizuka is awesome too. I didn't expect her to move THIS good to fast music .

Thanks a lot for the youtube links to other skaters' performances, efosko! I watched all of them. hannaruth, I agree with you - all the programs except Stephane and Shizuka's one are quite boring - the music, the moves are not as creative as they should be IMHO. Elena and David looked a bit awkward together though they executed difficult elements. Shae-Lynn and John were quite hot, but their program was nothing really special, I kind of expected more. I see some emotions in this routine, but not much of a story and not much of creativity. But they are only pair whose costumes I really like. Jamie and Patrice weren't synchronous and didn't seem to match completely - this music is Jamie's style but it doesn't fit Patrice. Marie-France and Michael didn't do well IMHO - many elements, but Michael looked uncomfortable to have to skate in a pair. And they were like unsure in their moves in general. I didn't buy it at all. In general I can say that the level of the show is quite low. I wasn't even impressed by the most programs, I don't even have the wish to save any video except the one with Stephane. IMHO (and I am not biased - I am a huge fan of Sale&Pelletier, Dubreil&Lauzon and Shae-Lynn too) Stephane and Shizuka were the best, they showed how the skating in this show should be - high quality technical elements, good synchronous moves, striking costumes, entertaining music, creative choreography. Pity it is not to be seen in the marks

Is there any cure for Stenhal Syndrome? ;D BTW, thank you so much girls, for all the videos and infos

Maybe crazy idea but I feeled Stephane did quads in last shows to show that quads are important for figure skating...he has never complained after Vancouver about Olympics gold medalist without quads like Evgeni, but he is really clever I think he shows his reaction like this...maybe I'm wrong but I feel that especially due to his words after and before their show in Thin Ice...Or am I producing conspiracy theory

I don't think even the judges themselves are taking the scores seriously, so I'm not particularly concerned about the outcome, except it grates on me just how *off* the scores are with my own assessment. But oh well. When I saw Elizabeth Hasselbeck (I think that's her name?) listed as a co-host, I adjusted my expectations on the show accordingly. So no great surprise for me here. The thing is, there is the prize money ... 1st Place: $60,000 per couple 2nd Place: $50,000 per couple 3rd Place: $45,000 per couple 4th Place: $35,000 per couple 5th Place: $30,000 per coupleBut the very least Stephane can walk away with is $15,000. I am happy to see him paired up with Shizuka, my favorite lady there. Still, there is just the whole point about winning ... so let's work that mouse! -- S4
