I'm sooo happy for Kevin! Great job! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Well deserved bronze medal! Great to see that he was rewarded for going through with the skating in spite of his pain...

The way the eurosport dutch commentators were going on, I thought he was going to drop quite a few places (because they were talking about the training this morning that didn't go well, and all his injuries,...) Brrr, can they scare a person!
But I was really reassured with the way he started, you could tell he was very determined to make the best of it!

I'm usually not that much of a softie but when he got off the ice and then said to Sylvie he was in pain... :'( :'( :'(

@Titia : great to see your boyfriend is hooked as well ;-) I ordered my tickets for his show as well and can't wait untill it's that time again!

@Mireille: I know Brian skated his SP very well and that he did the best he could on his FP. All I was trying to say is that #2, 3 and 4 had to fight pretty hard. It was easier for Brian to defend his #1 because of his great SP and that he did it well. I just don't like him.

Congrats to Kevin for the bronze medal. :-*
He was just terrific and his performances moved me profoundly. I cried for joy when I saw his cute reaction after finishing his lovely free skating.

This is what the ISU writes about Kevin on their website including some comments from Kevin:

...Van der Perren overcame a painful hip injury to win his second European bronze medal since 2007. Performing to “Heros” by Safri Duo, the Belgian executed a high triple Axel, his trademark triple Salchow-triple toeloop-triple loop combination as well as four more triples and spins and steps that were all but one graded a level three and four. Van der Perren received 143.56 points (76.86/66.70), which was a new seasons best, and moved up one spot with 219.36 points overall. He edged out Yannick Ponsero of France by just 0.06 points. “This medal means so much to me. I didn’t skate a clean program since my surgery in April. I’m surprised about the placement. I was skating in the most horrible condition I ever had. I didn’t think I’d be on the podium”, van der Perren said...

Thanks for the photos Sigrid! And for all the comments Titia! :-* to both of you but most of all to Kevin with huge congrats to another medal at Euros! He deserved every gram of it. The men's competition was so exciting; uncertain to the end like a good competition should be. And Kevin rocked :D

Mireille, I enjoyed reading your interview with Ruben. It's been so long since we saw him in Antwerp, he has sure grown! And unless someone else claims his spot I guess he'll be competing at Euros again next year, good for him and thanks Kevin!

Aw I actually didn't see the FS. Must go and see the the uploads at the wonderful FSVids.
I'm not one to comment on fair judging lol!!! I seldom agree with podium finishes, but I did see Brian Joubert (on TV) in his SP and he looked unstoppable, like Plushenko in his day, or Yagudin. I'm not a great lover of his style but my hat is off to him for his short program!

I'm happy for Kevin and his bronze medal. What a good year it's been for them (Jenna) both.
I can't wait to watch all the FSs.

What happened to Tomas? ??? I need to watch that tomorrow after work!
