Wow, he likes to cut things fine doesn't he? I'm sure he can get it ready in time though. Fingers crossed. King Arthur. How....English. The only criticism I had of the old fp was that there weren't enough "moves" in it to incorporate the levels of CoP, especially on the spins where he could have blown away the opposition if he'd tried.

The only criticism I had of the old fp was that there weren't enough "moves" in it to incorporate the levels of CoP, especially on the spins where he could have blown away the opposition if he'd tried. I had a discussion about this with my coach today... She told me that when they had a seminar on CoP somewhen in the off-season I think they were shown what moves etc. you needed to do to qualify for the specific levels. Also included was of course that change of edge in the spin which would give Stéphane a higher level. She think those edge changes/to many CoP requirements can completely ruin the spins so they don't look great anymore.... And to a certain part I agree. While I love Ira, the combination with the weird exit position I don't really like and it's all to get a higher level... Me, well I definitely prefer Stéphanes Lv.1 to Zhuber's Lv. 2 spin...

I always prefer a Stephane spin to anyone else's. I was shocked at the level thing going on (that is, level 1 spin for Stephane - wtf? I thought that was a joke!), but the rules are rules. Everyone who wants to win is playing by them. Eventually the rules will be changed, I am sure, but for now, skaters have to put up with them. I quite like to see a change of edge spin, though, especially on the parallel spin. I think a forward outside edge parallel is beautiful. Stephane could have a field-day with this (assuming he can spin on FO edge?) I know CoP will encourage repetitive moves/spins etc, but skaters have got to get with it, if they want to medal.

Some say they have the best spins in the world: Stéphane and Lucinda RuhMe, me, me. I say this!!!! You're the one I was thinking of when I wrote that! I just didn't feel like writing "Mel says..." I also can't wait to see the new program. I'll take seeing it as a "welcome home" gift! LOL And Stéphane said he's been changing the spins, so I hope it means that he, Mr Grütter, Salomé and Cédric have been reading COP a bit more carefully and that his new program will also show improvements in other areas than just the spins.

I got to see the new LP a couple of times yesterday and today, and it's a BEAUTIFUL program! I love it! The music's very strong, I like the cuts, and Stéphane's skating is very powerful and totally fits the theme and music. I love the circular step sequence and the straight line's also quite fantastic! The spins have been changed to include the change of edge, now they look... different! LOL The order of the jumps is also different, which makes the program very interesting. It's definitely a VERY difficult program and I hope that Stéphane will have enough energy and strength to skate it well until the end, it will be tough and he'll need lots of support from the audience! Now if only he had had that program earlier, it could have become a jewel!! *sigh* Stéphane's amazing, I still can't believe how talented he is and I'm always very impressed, and it's hard to believe that he only started creating that program 4 weeks ago, but still... I'm afraid we'll never see the whole potential of the program, it *could* have gone as high as last year's flamenco in my "top list of programs" (and that means a lot!!), but I doubt it'll have the time to. Oh well...
