Welcome, Kathrine! I have the same name, spelled and pronounced a little differently. There are about 10 of us "Kats" on AS, but we always have room for more! I was wondering when someone would take "marienkaefer" as a screen name. sm

B = Brave R = Responsible Y = Youthful lol A = Agreeable :-) N = Noble
I posted in the introduction thread last year when I first visited here, but I haven't posted since then, so I will reintroduce myself now. I'm Bryan. I'm a violist and a college student. I plan on playing in a major orchestra someday. I became a skating fan back in 2003 during Worlds. I hadn't really thought of skating seriously before then.
I first became a fan of Michelle Kwan and I have a large large collection of videos of her. But as her career slowed down and I came in contact with skating fans online, I realized that skating was about more than just her lol. I first saw Stephane during 2004 Worlds. I really enjoyed his spinning ability, but never really took his skating seriously until I started watching videos of him this summer. He's grown to be such a great skater and artist. I really like his music choices as they are diverse and I also enjoy his ability to emote from the ice to the audience which are both qualities I miss in skating. He's also very likable. My favorite program of Stephane's right now is probably his Flamenco LP that he did at Worlds last season. That was a complete program. I don't see those often lol.
I have been making skating montages for the past 3 years now. I started when I realized what Windows Movie Maker was. I had so many ideas about what music would be good for skating, so it was my chance to test those ideas out. Not long after I started making montages, there was the first large online skating montage contest. After competing, I realized how competitive it could be. I make montages for fun, but I have made so much progress over the past few years, so I enjoy sharing my knowledge about making videos with others that ask for help. I moderate on FSVid's montage forum. I have made two Stephane montages. Maybe I'll make one again sometime soon :-)
My favorite movie is the Italian movie Life is Beautiful. My favorite sport aside from skating is tennis. My favorites are the Williams sisters and Nadal. I also enjoy Roger Federer's game more now that I appreciate the variety of his game and his relaxation. I don't think I have a favorite book right now, but Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho are among the books I really enjoy. My favorite color is blue. I wear glasses. I have never traveled outside the United States. I think that says a lot about me :-)

Thank you very much for your nice and very informative introducTIon!!! - I enjoyed a lot to read more about you and how it came that you started to love figure skating and making montages! You're first "favorit" was Michelle Kwan - mine ages ago Denise Bielmann and Katharina Witt. Then I had a long time only watched very occasionally figure skating. 2002 started the "hype" about Stéphane Lambiel in Switzerland and at this time I thought: okay - but I don't want to get in this hype too. 2005 - after Stéphane's World titel (though I saw his program only at the news ;D) I decided to watch in the upcoming season more figure skating. Luckily Olys came in 2006 and Swiss TV covered a lot of Figure Skating. First I was more or less only interested in Swiss Skaters . But then I started to discover other useful sites like fs.vids etc. And since I am learning more and more about this nice sport. My interest is no longer only Swiss Skaters but figure skating in generell though there are still some skaters I enjoy more to watch then others but that's no longer a question of nationality . B R Y A NA big and warm WELCOME again here! [/color] Hope you enjoy to be here even more then I do...

I'm Renate. I'm 21 and I'm from the Netherlands. I've been a Lambiel fan for a few years now. Really started in 2004 when I saw him skate at Worlds in Dortmund (where he seriously should have medalled!). ;D For some reason I never joined a forum about him before though. I'd like to go to Worlds again next year. It's been a while and I'd love to get his autograph and picture. Of course, ideally he'd hear a choir of angels singing upon meeting me and realise that I'm the girl of his dreams, but let's take it one step at a time.

Hi Renate! My real name is Renate,too! :-) Nice to meet another Renate! First I wanted to answer in the Italian thread, but now I'm happy to find you here, because my Italian is soooo bad.
I'm from Germany. I'm Lambiel-fan since 2002 (his great performance in Lausanne) and saw Lambiel in Dortmund, too! I'm your opinion, he deserved a medal there. It was so amazing!
