With seeing the thread of Céline's Da Vinci Code I remembered something and im curious to know:
Did someone of you read the whole book of LOTR in English? I did once and I liked it, the book the story is way complicater than the movie..even the version in my own language was way more difficult to really understand well.

I read the Dutch version once..and the English twice and I really loved the story, but the trouble is...I actually don't like reading at all , only when it's a very special book and everybody is talking about it..I might be going to read...like the Da Vinci code..my friends in Holland are talking about it a lot...sow...now they even talk about it here..I suppose i've to read it too now ;D But I think it's really nescessary when you want to understand the LOTR book completely you have to read the Hobbit too...it's the pre-history of The One Ring...a very funny book, but again with lot's of different meanings...

Balin, Dvalin, Oin, Gloin, Bombur... And a bunch of others...
I've read LOTR in English and Swedish, and The Hobbit in Swedish. Also I've got all five HP books, in English.

I've read the Hungarian version and i simply loved it. It's a great story and enjoyable for the second/third/fourth/fifth.... hundreth reading as well.
I also like Harry Potter, but those two things simply can't be compared!!! LotR feels like ancient myths and so on, while Harry Potter is a funny reading with lots of great ideas, but J.K.Rowling simply doesn't have the stylistical skills of Mr. Tolkien...
