Just figured I'd drop you guys an update.
Training is going pretty well, with a few weeks left before all my qualifying competitions start up. I went up to New York today to meet with Tania for my short program costume, and from the sketches I can tell it's gonna look awesome.
After I met with Tania, I got to go see the Daily Show with Jon Stewart (I'm not sure if any of you in Europe get to watch this show ever - but it's a "fake news" show on Comedy Central. It's a really popular show that is mostly political satire.) It was a ton of fun. I got to meet Jon Stewart before the show because he was across the street from the studio in a local bar a few hours beforehand. He was very friendly and approachable, except for this one lady with a video camera who was being kind of obnoxious. I just thanked him for letting me watch them film the sketch, shook his hand, and he told me to have a good time at the show tonight which was cool.
Anyways, gotta go to bed so I can wake up in the morning. Good night all, I'll be back with more tomorrow night.

Hi Shaun!
I love the Daily Show! It's often the last show I watch at night before going to bed. In fact, that's what I'm watching now! It's pretty cool you had the chance to be there.
Thanks for giving us updates once in a while. It's great to hear from you.
Caroline.

They actually film it all at once... no multiple takes, no nothing, they just go straight through. They did one segment with the guy who does "Poll Smoking" as a pretaping deal because he flies in from London, but other than that it's exactly on TV like it is in the studio.
They also have a guy come out before the show and talk to the crowd, kinda get everybody pumped up and in a good mood (he picked on a lot of people in the crowd, just cracked a lot of jokes). Then Jon did a short Q&A before they started filming.

Sounds like fun. That's cool that they do it straight through. I bet it's funnier that way.

I don't think we get that TV show here, but I only watch a little TV. Thanks for the update.
