then something about last years GP, that it was an unfortunate situation at TEB. Joubert withdrew from competition and he didn't know how to handle the new role as absolute favorite. Tomas says he hopes this kind of thing will never happen again...and he says that the Japanese are pretty strong, so he hopes they won't withdraw. Takahashi has withdrawn due to injury, making Tomas the favorite again! On one hand this helps Tomas' chances to getting to GPF, but I think that having a rival helps him perform better... and he skated so well against Takahashi last year at NHK. Hopefully he'll have learned from last year's Paris experience. Watching the first two GPs is also making me wonder if he's still going for the quad in the short. Personally I think 3F-3T is better, since the short is much less forgiving of mistakes... then go for the quad after a couple positive competitions.

And also, if I remember Joubert withdrew from Paris on really short notice... a day before short program? This time Tomas has at least a little longer to prepare mentally.

Personally I think 3F-3T is better, since the short is much less forgiving of mistakes... then go for the quad after a couple positive competitions. Last thing he said about the quad, is that he feels really confident about it and he himself does want to add it in the SP. However he also said the final decision is not up to him, he and his team will make it in China in the days leading up to the SP. Personally after this news I hope he goes for the safe option: ie 3f-3t, because without Takahashi there, there is really no need to take any risks. (well maybe a reason could be to try out before Euros and Worlds) I also hope he learned from his mistakes and will be able to handle this mentally...

....I just hope history won't repeat itself I agree to your opinion. And I pray for Tomas not doing the same failure. Hopefully he'll have learned from last year's Paris experience. I believe that he is a person having it. And I think that it is good if there is few time more than last year when he prepare for his heart. Tomas, Do toho!!

I'm so lucky, I have a day off tomorrow from school (no, I didn't "take it", it's for real!), and I could change shifts on saturday so I can watch all!

Good luck to Tomas! My work comp is old and crappy and doesn't allow me to watch any online stream so I'm back to nervously refreshing the result page, lol.

Oh bother. Went for the quad and popped into a double (looked behind the music so might have been rushing), added toe to lutz so was okay across other elements.
4th place at 65, 12 points behind the lead. He seems in a good mood though and can definitely fight back in the long.
