This is totally voluntary. Nobody has to pay here. BUT if you felt like you could spare a couple of euros or dollars or pounds, you could go to the home page: www.absoluteskating.com and click on the Donate sign to paypal, and donate a little to help with the costs of running this fabulous, friendly site - free to all members and guests.

Oooh, I just wanted to add my reason for posting this thread (with permission from Mireille, the site owner). I just thought it must cost a lot to host this site (and the official sites, some of which are hosted here). Also Mireille puts a lot of time and effort in these sites, plus her own finances to fund it, and asks for nothing in return, except for us to behave ourselves.

Am still blushing at the thought of actually having this posted here, but then again, we did just get the yearly bill for the hosting of AS and no doubt will have to upgrade before the Olympics to prevent it from crashing. I wanna thank the people donating last year - you know who you are (I would actually put your names here, if I knew that'd be okay with you but I don't know... feel free to post here tho! Or let me know to) - it has helped a big deal. I also wanted to point out to you all, that without actually having to give money, there is a way to help out and that is by visiting the site of our "sponsors". As you may have noticed we have generated ads on the site (!! not the mb, those go to Proboards NOT AS ) and every click on one generates a little towards us. Now please do not go click loads of them at once - those are illegit clicks and won't help, in fact, that is seen as fraud, but when you are there are done reading an article, and see an add that remotely interests you... check the site out it helps them AND us, isn't that a great invention?? *mushy moment approaching* Aside that, I also want to thank each and every one of you for being a part of AS in whatever way you are: crewmembers, MBmods, MBmembers and readers. *mushy moment over*

Oh I didn't know that about clicking on the ads (legitimately of course), Mireille.

I keep saying each year that I'd donate money to charity and not send cards - helping to save paper, trees, the environment & money! I have decided to donate to Alzheimer Scotland - a charity that helps people with dementia illnesses in Scotland. I work for them as a support worker & volunteer. They do great work. www.alzscot.org/I'm also sending Absolute Skating $10 instead of sending Mireille a card. Merry Christmas everyone! Sorry I know it's waaaay tooooo early!!

For all the daft ones, don´t see how anyone can miss them Just kidding You can either click the bold green words in the text when you see them, a pop up will appear and that is the advert ......... also any blue text that is at the end of every page is ads, on AS then of course, not here on the mb

You're a star, AnniS ....oh gosh... Not a star, just a big fan there is a way to help out and that is by visiting the site of our "sponsors". As you may have noticed we have generated ads on the site (!! not the mb, those go to Proboards NOT AS ) and every click on one generates a little towards us. I'm still not entirely sure where exactly you mean Mireille. I thought the MB was under "proboards". Where do we have to go to find these ads? I was wondering about that too, Melanie! I can see the "green words" in the text, but when I click them, the pop-ups are all "empty".....
