Definitely the best performance of the night! While TV Asahi didn't air Tessa/Scott's, Nathalie/Fabian's or Jana/Sergei's performances etc, the Keers' Scottish dance was broadcast. The crowd seemed to love them so much. It's a pity I couldn't watch the entire finale...

I was watching a clip of Evgeni Plushenko and Edvin Marton on Youtube when this great thought hit me.... If ever Sinead and John feel that they, like Mr Plushenko, need a "sidekick" ( ) to help them in their show performances, they should bring their own singer onto the ice for an "all scots extravaganza".... I´m talking about Jim. ....Jim who?.... ....well Jim Kerr, of course!!!!! Wouldn´t that be soooooo greeeeat!!? (..so what, I like Simple Minds... ) "Ladies and gentlemen, on the ice tonight....*drum-roll* ...Kerr, Kerr aaaand Kerr!!!!!" ;D

Thanks for the update, Mel! Sinead is definitely enjoying writing reports (and we are definitely enjoying reading them ). So funny, we have almost online immediate reports about what they (and, luckily , Stephane too) are doing. I'm glad they are having a good time in Tokyo. You should tell them they were the only dancers Japanese TV showed. (I hope also I see this sometime...)

You should tell them they were the only dancers Japanese TV showed. Well, they ignored ice dancers except sweet Scots and Tanith/Ben. Sinead and John seem to be loved by the TV station as well.

All this talk of Japan makes me feel a sudden need for sake, sashimi and sushi (with lots of wasabi).... ....and an ice cold Japanese beer....

Thanks to Sinead and John for the updates. Have been enjoying them over the last few days. I have a question - When do they think they'll next be performing in the UK (hopefully I haven't missed an update on here... And are they working on the tour organisers to get them all to come and see us soon? Hope so, would be amazing ;-) Reut, try ebay for flags. There are Saltires, 5ftx3ft, for under £5 with free postage. LINK Thanks for the tip Mel - Managed to get a GB in Brighton recently but was hoping to get a Scottish one as well for the Olys. Woo Hoo!!!

Hi everybody! Reading John's post (so many thanks for it, John ), I felt so ashamed not to have written before my report about Lancia Ice Gala, so here I am! (better late than never) First of all I have to say some words about the Palavela, I had never been there before (though I live a scant 50 km away) and I've been very impressed by it; it's just beautiful: it looked like you were in a Starship! And, though we hadn't very good seats, we could watch decently the show. I really enjoyed the show, all the athletes where great, and the artists too . John and Sinead were super, but this didn't surprise me ; what excited me the most was seeing them skate with my own eyes and not through the cameraman's ones ...... Sooo nice when John waved his hand to the crowd (in my direction!!!) while carried by Sinead! After the show we had some problems to find the artist exit, the organization had managed to make very difficult for the fans to meet their idols (no chance to get to the ice level, neither to reach the area where the changing rooms were, not to speak of the “buffet area”, obviously it was absolutely off limits) though we could find a large glass partition gazing to the changing room hall, where we could wave the passing skaters, but of course we've been thrown out from there, as soon as they discovered us.... So we reached a place where the great number of policemen made us think it was the exit and finally we could meet someone: first were Bonaly, Tschernishev and Sinead: Wow she's beautiful!!! So stylish! And very kind too: she stopped to make autographs and signed my diary. Then it was Aliona & Robin turn, and then ..... John! I couldn't believe my eyes: he was really in front of me smiling, he was so friendly with us, he signed autographs and accepted to be photographed whith his fans (I got one photo and mummy too! ) and even joked with my little sister who was too scared (so now she regrets not to have a photo with him! ). Mother told him that she would upload them here, but unfortunately they aren't really good....pity..... Really this guy is fantastic (please allow me to say that in person he is even more handsome ) and we really appreciated that he was so “no-star” ( , you know what I mean?) at all. (I still feel a little upset for Plushenko and Lambiel “hide and seek” runaway ;D ) And a funny thing in the end: while Lambiel was signing the last autograph with one foot already on the bus, John pushed the hooter, making him jump and scream “OMG”!! Everyone was screaming: “Again! Again!”, so he did it again...

Thanks for the report, xelah .. sounds like you had a great time! I appreciate the updates from Sinead and now John too! I bet they're having a great time! I fully intend to visit my friend in Japan someday. It seems like a neat country! Glad they're getting in some great Japanese food. Q for Sinead: Despite the lack of time in Tokyo, were you able to fit in some shopping or sight-seeing time?

I suppose they all skated something together as a grand finale.....? That might be the "complicated part", no? But since they´re all such professionals it probably looked easy-peasy and well rehearsed anyway!
