With Nebelhorn only 3 weeks away, it's time to open a thread to show off all our banners for this season. Please, no criticism or controversy - this is where we post pics of our creations so we can "oooh" and "aaah" over each other's work. If you would rather see something else, go ahead and make it! The more banners we have to show our support to Stéphane, the better. Here are links to the previous banner threads, if you're interested in the banners we've made in the past: 2008-2009 2007-20082006-2007Starting on page 5 of the 2006-2007 thread is a very funny story by estephania about the night she gave the "Dralion" banner to Stéphane. As for this year's banner - I finally finished the main section last night. Drum roll, please..... I've posted more pics on my "Banner Project" blog: swissmissvids.spaces.live.com/sm

Hi Kat! I am very glad to see you here! New banner is very nice! New slogan "En visant d'or" is so good and I love maple leafs... Hopefully we get some news about King Arthur banner... would be great.

Thank you, swissmiss, for opening this thread!! The finished main section looks nice with all the ornaments and encouraging maple leaves! Your stories about how the previous banners came into life are really very touching! And the photos are amazing - those ones of Dralion are the very ones I've dreamed of for such a long time! My fairest wishes to you so that your kind-hearted enthusiasm could bring even more confidence and energy to our dear Stephane!

Kat, I'm going to use somebody else's words here (that were used for another banner), I think you'll remember : "un vrai chef-d'oeuvre" - well done, it's beautiful! I will certainly do my best to look for a perfect spot in Oberstdorf for this banner, so that when Stéphane steps on the ice, he'll see it straight away. I wonder what it feels like to be the skater with the best banners in the business

Great Banner Kat! I agree with Nadin, it's another masterpiece. Thank you for sharing pictures. I especially like the decorations you put on the "costume"

Thanks, everyone! I got the white panel for the signatures done today, and posted more pics on my blog. Now all I have to do is find the right size box and mail it to Nadin - and pray it gets to her on time. The Canadians like maple leaves, too! I hope they'll allow banners at the Olympics, and not enforce the Skate Canada "no banner rule". sm

I almost forgot... Is anyone going to the Japan Open? I'm still looking for someone to take my banner there. I've heard from one person who might be going, but they're not sure yet. Now that the GSA has been added to Stéphane's schedule, should we try to get the banner there also? There's only a week between the JO and the GSA, so the only sure way to get it to both places would be to find someone who can hand-carry it. Since the King Arthur banner was "lost" in the Italian postal system for awhile, I don't want to risk mailing it. Thanks, sm

Congratulations, Kat! You must be relieved that it's now finished in time . All your banners showed in pics have been always already very nice but every banner seeing it in reality was even much nicer then on a pic in the past . Given to this I'm really looking forward to see the new one with my own eyes . Would be great to have this chance already at his first official show-up during NHT -.... - (I'm still working on my schedule to be perhaps able to travel to Oberstdorf.. ).

Everybody breathe a sigh of relief, as the banner safely arrived this morning All your banners showed in pics have been always already very nice but every banner seeing it in reality was even much nicer then on a pic in the past . I can only agree with estephania here, the banner is absolutely gorgeous! It's very gold to start with and that's surely a good omen. And it's very shiny, too. The maple leaves are beautiful. I've got it laid out in my living room and every time I pass it, I have to stop and admire it for five minutes. I think I might just leave it there until next week because it's getting me more and more excited about the NHT

Everybody breathe a sigh of relief, as the banner safely arrived this morning Super! nadin - very glad to know that the banner arrived already safely at your home and you didn't have to make the same experieces like I did in the past, that banners arrived mostly a few minutes before I definitely had to leave for a competition - ... I've got it laid out in my living room and every time I pass it, I have to stop.... .....I think I might just leave it there until next week because it's getting me more and more excited about the NHT I guess I know exactly what kind of feelings you have . Enjoy the banner!
