Always glad to read updates from John. But I'm confused: Nagoya or Nagano? Hope they'll enjoy their stay in the country they like.

Did they arrive in Nagoya and take the train to Nagano? That is my best guess!

Hehe.. Thanks for the update. It's looking better every time I see it! Just wonder what is the difference that enables you to gain the higher level vs. getting level 2's.

Ps I blame the copy editor personally lol. I can't help it if I don't know my Nagoya from Nagano. Blame the education system! lol

Just wonder what is the difference that enables you to gain the higher level vs. getting level 2's. Can someone explain to me about levels? I look at the judges protocols and I wonder where you get the "levels" from?! Hope that's not a silly question..just I've been wondering now for a while!!

I this question is being asked in both threads! I kind of know the rules for singles; you have to do a certain number of turns in both directions and on both feet (and these include moves such as brackets, counters, rockers, etc.) and I think they have to be on three curving lobes?? and there is a regression involved--you may notice skaters backtrack a bit; sometimes they're doing figure loops, other times other moves.. but I am not totally versed on those. (I would know more but in adult, they only count 1 sequence and spirals are easier to get a higher level on. I still do footwork but later on and it doesn't count for levels but for connecting components). I'm not sure how things differ from dance but I know there is some sort of similarity.

Thanks sunnyskate. That is quite helpful. When you look at the marks for a dance, where can you find the levels given? You talk of Level 2 Step Sequences but where do you find this information on the score sheet? I'm not a skater myself and I'm confused about this!
