OK. So with a 2nd and a 3rd, Sinead and John have their best chance yet of making the Final.
With only 6 couples making it, how do things stand?
Davis/White have already qualified. If Virtue/Moir and Belbin/Agosto win their last 2 GP then both of them will automatically qualify too.
Who will end up in 4th? Khokhlova/Novitski probably. Although their star seems to be fading with the judges, they will probably get another 2nd to see them through ...
Capellini/Lanotte will probably get a 3rd, which would tie them with team Kerr. However, their scores are lower so the Kerrs would beat them on a tie-break.
The really interesting battle is Pechalat/Bourzat vs Faiella/Scali. If the Italians come 2nd and the French 3rd then both would tie with the Kerrs on points. Unfortunately, they both have slightly higher scores than the Scots so both would go through to the Final ahead of them. However, if the French beat the Italians, then Faiella Scali would be out of the running as the 8th couple and the Kerrs would go through.
Hope that explains the mathematics guys. Fingers crossed for team Kerr!

I have a feeling the French will beat the Italians. P&B seem to be making tracks, don't they?

Yes, I agree. If the French skate clean they will beat Faiella/Scali

;D whoskin, I calculated the same thing, but just after Rostelecom Cup, so it was more complicated And I reached the same conclussion than you It'd be better for us if P/B finish in 2nd position and the italians in 3rd, so... go Nathalie and Fabian the GP Final starts on December 3rd

I think P/B will come in ahead too. I'm going to have to make sure I memorize this and root for the right people at SA/SC. Really, I like them all and will root for them all!

Oh, I'm quite torn about this !! I also love Faiella/Scali so would love for them to go through but definitely NOT at the expense of John & Sinead.... :-( Cause I'd love for John & Sinead to be able to be at GPF!!! But the Kerrs are my absolute favourite so fingers crossed they get to be at the GPF!!!

OK, Anna and Luca get a spot for the Final with 26 points. And the Russian pair is out...
We have the same scenario... we need P/B ahead F/S

They're so close to getting into the Final!
I have a feeling that P/B will finish ahead of F/S, and that isn't just wishful thinking!

Same here. Glad Sinead and John have made the Grand Prix Final. But very sorry that Faiella and Scali have had to withdraw from Skate Canada!
