Good skate, smooth and clean :-) Congrats guys!
I am so sad for Isa & Oli though. Ok, it was not their best CD, but definitely not 6th place...
ETA: there seems to be a rule that says that each of my post have to be at the top of the next page... weird, lol

8th place eh? not as good as I'd hoped, but not as bad as I'd feared. They are very close to 6th place so fingers crossed that they can move up ... Their draw for the OD is not brilliant though, 3rd to skate of the top 10. Go Team Kerr!

Dominina & Shabolin were the best but Virtue & Moir looked too fast & scrappy. But I knew before they skated that they would be first or second. I don't get the judges love of Davis & White. They are nothing special. Plus her face never changes no matter what dance it is. I find them boring. Delobel & Schoenfelder must be gutted to be so low down. I thought that they should have been higher. Faella & Scalli were really good. They have really improved. John & Sinead were really sharp. I thought they were better than Khoklova & Novitski & Pechalat & Borzat (who were very nervy). Belbin & Agosto have had their day. They have not improved since the last Olympics. They are in 4th coz it's a north american olympics. If Dominina & Shabolin slip up we will have a us/canada podium. It's possible that there will be no European gold medal winners in the figure skating at these Olympics. Can't remember when that last happened

It's possible that there will be no European gold medal winners in the figure skating at these Olympics. Can't remember when that last happened In ice dance it has never happened. Since it appeared in the Olympics it has been won by Soviets/Russians, British (1984) and French (2002). Non-Europeans have only been on the ice dance podium three times: USA's O'Connor/Millns in 1976, Canada's Wilson/McCall in 1988, and Belbin/Agosto in 2006. For a non-European to win, or just medal, would be a big achievement. Doing a bit of research, I've found that 1960 is the only Olympics when no European won a figure skating gold (but there were only 3 then.) USA's David Jenkins won the men's, USA's Carol Heiss won the ladies and Canada's Wagner/Paul won the pairs.. The only time there have been no European medallists in an event was the men's in 1956 when all 3 medals were won by the USA. Hope that helps! ;D

Thank you for the pictures, Sigrid!
I haven't been on here for a while, (was watching the men's competition) but I'm glad to hear that John & Sinead skated well. I'm quite relieved, to be honest, because I feared they would be lower than where they are currently placing! I hope they skate their best and that they themselves will be happy with what they did.
Good luck to them!
I have to go now and watch their CD!!!
