Ohh he won, awesome. Congrats Philipp!!! And of course this comp is just as important!! Thanks for keeping us posted, I wonder if anybody went? I've been there, of course The "Heiko-Fischer-Pokal" took place for the 20th time. It is an important contest for young skaters. Alas, the level of the senior men wasn't too high; for many of them it hadn't been their "lucky day". Philipp could have performed better, and wasn't satisfied, too. For the spectators, it was an exhausting exercise, because the Waldau ice rink offers standing room only. At least, standing close to the ice rink has the advantage, that soft toys can be thrown easier . We enjoyed also the cake, offered by young skaters and their mothers for a donation in order to finance their training camp. End of this week the Deutschland Pokal takes place, and we are confident that Philipp will perform better this time.

Thanks a lot for your report, swissgaladriel. Oh...it seems this competition was very tough not only for skaters but also for the audience! I believe Philipp will skate much better at Deutschland Pokal!

And eek for holding a competition in an icerink with only standing places. Saw that at Belgian Nationals too (last year, not this) and it is quite... annoying? Anyway, hope you didn't have to stand for hours at a time? Did they have a cafetaria or some closeby? Must not be nice for the skaters either, less audience and so...
