Here is a better version of the television broadcast (only Stephane and Shizuka right now because I need to go to bed). I recorded it quite high quality, so I can put up higher quality copies if people want. I'm just not certain with types of files/compression works best, so any suggestions are appreciated. (I'm using Vegas 8) www.mediafire.com/?nikzy1z2yydOn the whole I thought the show was pretty cheesy, and not my favourite music, but I thought Shizuka and Stephane were adorable and having so much fun and that was great to see. A question for those who attended: The main problem (to me) with watching Shizuka and Stephane on television was that because they didn't skate basically right next to each other the whole time like the others, there were sections where you could only see one of them, so it looked like it wasn't a cohesive unit, but two programs being skated to the same music at the same time. (Like we would see Shizuka do a spiral, but for all we knew Stephane was off to the side sitting in the audience and eating popcorn. Okay, maybe not) Was it like that there, or should they have just pulled the cameras back and let us see that they were working together?

I couldn't watch the show , so thank you to everyone for the videos and impressions! I've voted about 100 times (used my friends' mail addresses ). Don't have time any more, I must leave for work. Maybe more in the evening Well, as for my impressions from the number of Stephane and Shizuka I can say I was disappointed: 1. The costumes and hairdos were both wrong, not for Hip Hop they were making 2. The choreography looked not as cool as in the practice video we had few days ago I agree with the judges - they didn't do much as a pair, more as two single skaters, BUT the organizers said before the show that they didn't expect them to be a real pair on the ice and to do pairs' elements and if Shizuka and Stephane did something like a mix of solo performances it would be OK. Shizuka and Stephane just did it and they are punished for it. That's what I call unfair Keep your words, judges, if you want any respect for your show! I liked the profile - it was so nice! And I have huge respect for Stephane executing a quad there

thanks you for the videos J.N. and serenityblue and for your report marni and thanks for the links pia!! i've voted around 100 times by now as well and i'll try to vote some more ;D BUT the organizers said before the show that they didn't expect them to be a real pair on the ice and to do pairs' elements and if Shizuka and Stephane did something like a mix of solo performances it would be OK. i was thinking that too....many articles stated that they don't even have to skate together but can skate separately and now they suddenly get criticized for it especially considering that they were the only single skaters pair. it just seems odd

Don't take it that seriously, it's fun only. They don't have much chance in that type of contest and won't learn to skate with a partner in a week. I watched the clip and they both look like having good time. They went for their own thing without trying to be something they are not. They looked as if just came from the Olympics going for big jumps in the spotlight on live TV. It was gutsy, they are both competitors and exquisite skaters. Camera work was pretty crappy, they could show it better. Stephane is doing quads even in TV show. I'm afraid he might miss competition and challenge, he's not made for cheese reality TV.

I'm still not home, but was reading the thread and wanted to share a couple of funny things. At the beginning of the show when each skater was introduced they skated to the far end of the ice to line up and they clapped. I don't know if they showed it on TV, but Stephane kept spinning a bit longer than Shizuka, kind of showing off. The lady sitting next to me literally GASPED when she saw Stephane up close right in front of us and clutched her friends arm, saying "he's SO much more handsome in person!". I think she then collapsed into Stenhal syndrome.
About their routine, I barely watched Shizuka but they absolutely took turns doing elements while the other one gestured or just did a simpler move. Then they would come together for something like the split jumps. I don't know if Stephane and Shizuka could have belieably pretended they had "chemistry" like Shae and John sis. It is just not them. They looked like 2 good friends having fun together and showing how talented they are. Honestly, the money difference between 1st and 5th is not that big. I think bragging rights are the bigger prize. ABC wanted to play up how the married skaters were split up and enjoying the novelty of having a flirty skate with a different partner. S & S cannot be a part of that, nor would I want them to.
However it might have worked better if Steph and Shae were partners. They seem perfectly capable of putting on a show for a camera!!! Lol!
