Translation of
"I am a fan of Lady Gaga"
He is an exceptionally gifted figure skater and an excellent actor. Stephane Lambiel (26) about comedy, Lady Gaga and New Year's Eve.
Stephane Lambiel, during one month you appeared in the comedy-theater "La Revue" in Saxon. How was it for you?
S: It was a super experience for me and a new challenge. I love the stage and if I get the chance again, I certainly won't say no to it.
As a figure skater you are used to perform for a big audience. Did you have to get used to this kind of stage?
S: Not really - there are similarities between acting and figure skating: You have to "communicate" with the audience and you are together for a short while. The small difference: In figure skating the tempo is given by the music, in "La Revue" it was the laughing of the crowd.
What has been your role in the comedy-theater?
S: I sung and I was integrated in sketches.
How did the audience react?
S: Very positiv and very well.
What is the biggest difference between acting and figure skating?
S: Figure skating is a sport, in my case a 'high-performance-sport', which encludes athletic skills.
But figure skating is also a form of entertainment and acting?
S: Of course - and that is why I love this sport so much.
Among others you were imitating Lady Gaga. Are you a fan of this singer?
S: I am a fan of Lady Gaga, but I did not imitate her, I just sang a song of her, accompanied by a piano.
Also Lady Gaga often changes her roles. Do you see similarities?
S: I think so, we are artists and artists do change their roles.
You would like to act in a movie?
S: Yes, I am interested in theater-, movie-, dance and music-projects.
Are there concrete plans?
S: There are requests and talks once in a while. But there is nothing concrete at the moment.
Two years ago you turned away from competitive figure skating. Do you miss the atmosphere of competitive figure skating sometimes?
S: No, not really.
In the new year you will be back to the figure skating and among others you will appear with Art on Ice in Zürich, Lausane and St. Moritz. How are those acts for you?
S: They are fantastic. Art on ice is re-conceptuated and something new every year, and you meet great skaters and stars on stage. It is wonderful to be a part of Art on Ice. It is the most successful and beautiful ice gala in the world.
How do you spend your time, when you are not on stage or on an ice rink?
S: In a airplain, as in my profession I am often abroad. And if I find time, I try to see as much as possible from a town. I go for walks in a park, try the food of other countries or I simply go shopping.
How did you spend the christmas days?
S: Usually I spend this days with my family. But this has not been possible this year as I was at a gala in Japan.
And New Year's Eve? What do you have planned?
S: There is no concrete plan yet, but I won't party for too long, because I have a show in Turin January 1st.
You have a free wish. What do you wish for yourself in the new year?
S: That my way continues as fantastically as until now.
I wish also a very happy and healthy new year to all of you on this bord, including everybody from lambiel-ru and also from lambiel-daily and ontd-skating. I am often "there", amusing myself with the often funny comments. Thanks to everybody .... and of course, especially to our dear Stéphane Lambiel who gives us so much joy with his art. May everything last long.
:-*HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYBODY
