Interview with Stephane from the video posted by elanor
www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJ1OzKUuKnIQuestion: How did you feel today, as circus director?
Stephane: I felt quite well. It was something different... but also something I knew before: The audience, the reactions, the eyes of the people. This I know and I enjoyed the time on the stage.
Q: Today you were moderating for the first time in German. How was....
S: .... It's for the first time that I moderate at all! I never did this before, not even in French. It's a premiere for me and I was very, very nervous. Before the start I thought: 'O.k, I am not going to do it, I cannot. But then it started and it worked. But it wasn't easy. The days before had been difficult. There was a lot of work including acting lessons, singing lessons, rehearsals, learning texts by heart... and expressions, positions, lights, costumes ... it was a lot, very much.
But it's interesting and, whoaaah.... a tremendous experience for me. I learned so much.
Q: You talk about 'learning text': could you come with your own ideas?
S: I could bring my own ideas. I am really happy with the the person, the man who wrote the texts. He was able to take my style and adapt, ... interpose it into a sophisticate language. Even words that ...
Well, the text has to match, to go with the person I am.
In the beginning we had a meeting and before I had become texts. But I felt we had to make (more) clear in which direction we wanted to go.
Then we met again, talked over the character of the role again, how I wanted to represent my role on the stage. Then it just developed and became a really nice collaboration. He felt the things, has so much experience, he writes so well, he ... . Well, I was just so happy! The first positive point about 'Rock Circus' is that I met him.
Q: During the show you mention Socchi and that you maybe could try again. What would the program look like as circus director?
S: (Smiling..). Well, actually it's just (kind of) dreaming ... Maybe I could participate (in Socchi) skating with roller skates in my living room. I don't know.
Q: Did you choose your outfit as rocker yourself? Who made it?
S: I had a very good costume designer. She made both costumes. Until Wednesday, when both costumes arrived, I had only seen pictures, drafts, of them. I was surprised. But then...: I have to act and cannot come onto the stage with only a nice leather jacket ... .
But she did very well. Everything (on the jacket) is very (makes an 'eruption' gesture) ... an explosion.
Q: Once 'Rock Circus' will be over: Would you wear the jacket also in private?
S: I hope I can keep it: I have used this costume and sweated a lot. It represents my life with 'Rock Circus' and is part of my life (smiles...)
Q: So we will see you going out in studded outfit?
S: No. It is like with my figure skating costumes. I don't go to partys with them. But I like to open my closet and see my costumes. I can dream of those times and how good they were, have nice memories. It will be the same with both costumes from 'Rock Circus'.
Interview with Christina Uebelhart.
(Sidenote: There was a very short interview with the textwriter (Kamil Kreijci) in another video. He tells that he found it 'super' how fast Stephane captured and assumed the text. But that he (the writer) was nervous about it ("I was sweating").
