I'm so happy for him too! I'm also happy about this show because I assume that this is the kind of a show, that I've been wishing for. I'm happy to see that the performer list is not filled with pointless pop-stars, which always takes focus away from the skating. We all have seen that Stephane has a great taste of style, and I can't wait to see the show created by him!

Kotaro Fukuma's (the pianist who will perform at Ice Legends) site: columbia.jp/fukuma/He released a new album in mid September. And there is a nice message from Stephane on the site. In which he exactly mentions the pieces which Kotaro will perform in the show (Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an exhibition")

I'm also making plans in my mind, I've checked flights, tickets, hotels.. but I haven't booked anything yet. I just came back home from Operapop, I haven't even had time to unpack my bags . I'm just thinking, how would my family react, if I'd travel again so soon, just in few months.. I'm quite sure I will be there, but also I'm sure my family won't like it, and my husband will give me a good speech about spending all that money for travelling..

From FSU: As long as I heard Stephane said in an interview on a Japanese magazine named the 'Season Guide' special issue of 'World Figure Skate' published recently that he was offered this opportunity to organize an ice show celebrating the 150th anniversary of the friendship between Switzerland and Japan when he visited Japanese Consulate General in Geneva to apply for a visa. Akiko Suzuki, Miki Ando and Nobunari Oda will participate in this show. He choreographs the programs for Akiko and Nobunari. Akiko will skate to a beautiful Debussy's number played by a Japanese pianist Kotaro Fukuma who loves her skating. He wished to have more Japanese skaters in the show but shame he couldn't since they are busy at the stage of the season. www.fsuniverse.net/forum/index.php?threads/ice-legends-geneva-december-18.93257/#post-4340068So Stéphane will also choreograph programs for this show! Wow...

The interview is about the same like the article in "Sonntagszeitung". They talk about his triple task as creator, director and also as skater in the show. Besides everything already known from the article, Stéphane tells that he is in contact with the Japanese consulate in Geneva. They were invited as well as the Swiss ambassador in Tokyo and "we stay in touch with all the diplomatic corps to have them at the event". Wow … One can not say Stephane starts his new adventure in a too modest way . How courageous!

Thank you for explanations. I should say that throughout his whole career I always felt that all his steps were right, on right time, with right people, on the right level of his personal development (it's like he said once that as if he saw the light where to make the next step). And this show too (although with school and other shows and preparations for AOI his schedule becomes even more crazy now), it feels very right for him. The time, the place, the theme of the show, the music chosen. And thinking about "the celebration of friendship between Switzerland and Japan", who can do this better than him indeed?

Good to read, recomforting . And it's true, actually: he never disappointed. But, I must say, I was quite "shocked" about this step, in such context, so early in his new career. He himself puts the bars really high saying that he wants to have a big, unique spectacle. He does not give himself the chance for "a nice try", but goes for all right away. I'm probably more nervous than he himself .

Considering the rink at Vernets you anyway can't expect something HUGE. Like for sure it won't be OperaPop or AOI. But the cast is nice and the music choice too.
So I actually do see this as a "nice try" for him. Rather small, "homey" show at his home rink. Which, no doubt, will be created with good taste and in high quality.
