In 2010, second time I came for AOI and went to Zurich and Lausanne, they didn't have even one day! Skaters didn't have a rest. But what was even more demanding for the production - to dismount the stage, to move it to Lausanne and to put everything back in less than 24 hours, crazy! They worked all night long!

One day off only First show in Lausanne is on Tuesday. Yes, I only realize now! You're right! Gosh, what a demanding program!! And then only one day off before Davos. And Gaja: Yesterday afternoon's quad was not all that bad, touch down, but no fall . Then I should stop reading what people say on FB Sorry, girls!

Hm, I thought they might have a second equipment? But it's true, that would be much too expensive for "only" eight days of performance, and only in Switzerland. I believe they had a second equipment in 2013 when they had shows in Helsinki and Stockholm, too. And I remember the stress the skaters had when - due to snowstorm - they only arrived in Helsinki an hour before the beginning of the show. Yes, the stage work must be very demanding. Now comes to my mind: Didn't you write a report on Absolute Skating about this once?

It was exactly about AOI 2010. absoluteskating.com/index.php?cat=photogallery&id=2010aoibackstage1By the way, about one day off before Davos, last year Stephane took Marla to Skating School that day, so not sure he'll have even that...

Don't stop reading there! For somebody who compares with Yuzuru's or Javi's quads, for example, he indeed missed it . Ok - I won't Actually Stéphane doesn't need to be ashamed of his quads at all - have you seen the video from the opening night, when Stéphane landed his quad but Javi missed it completely? youtu.be/vQ-uXUFFCDo?t=14m As far as I remember it was posted by, reut

Hi everyone Some impressions from AOI from me too First of all, before going to Zurich I have to say that I wasn't really excited.. not for the show (the production is GREAT and you can be sure they will always do a good job), just because this time the music didn't really meet my taste, and the cast was, let's say "including some name I would not mind missing" But I changed my mind while watching, I really really enjoyed. I absolutely loved the opening, the ending, all group numbers, the costumes (WOW, someone please pass this costume makers number to opoi production..), and some not skating numbers, like the one jumeku mentioned above. Incredibly, I enjoyed also the singers. OK music is not my style and I'm sure I won't go downloading the songs to have them on my ipod, but they all created a fantastic atmosphere, fun, power, a lot of energy... the singers were on fire, the crowd had a lot of fun and for what I could see, skaters too Stéphane of course exceeded (again) my expectations being able to create something beautiful, so strong (he gave so much energy to watch him live, I hope this can be seen on videos) on such a difficult (at least, for me..) musical choice. Hew was the absolute rock/pop star

It's strange but we haven't got any video from the opening yet The show started with a high-wire artist and some off-voice talking about rainbows, ending "which color has your rainbow"? Then the skaters of the show appeared one by one in their colorful costumes, Stéphane in the violet one. That was all.

Right, I've seen some picture of Stéphane in that costume and thought that they performed some group number - that's why I was surprised that there is no video. Thank you for the explanation, stephanie2006! Thank you very much for your impression, Anna. I'm happy for you that the show exceeded your expectations I agree with you about the costumes. They all are really great.

I don't know if I will write a report, but I don't think so... maybe I will write some notes to add to the album, but I didn't understand a word there so I don't think I can have some interesting stories I thought too that the audience seemed much more entusiastic than last years! I don't know if it was because the singer was really trying to "get them" (loved when she said "if you know the words, sing! and if you don't know them... sing anyways, just use the words you want, they will be ok" lol cute) or just because they loved the show more, or because in general many numbers were very joyful? Btw, special mention for the number of dancers with lights effects on the costumes who disappeared ~ appeared in the darkness, so great. The only thing that I really didn't like was the shape of the rink, I mean beautiful to watch from above, but first rows tickets became the worst ones, they couldn't see half of the scene... I would have been very upset if I bought one of those...

I would have been very upset if I bought one of those... It wasn't that bad actually, we were sitting in the V sector inside bend first row and we weren't upset. Sure I would prefer straight borders and it happened that Stéphane "disappeared" for us for a moment during "Nobody's perfect". Bending the borders has like zero additional value for the show and the little platforms for dancers were annoying. Overall the first row is still great because of being so close to the skaters and it's soooo intense. So I was sitting once near the stage and once near the skaters and I said to my friends afterwards it was like watching two totally different shows.
