Yes, it is good news that he still intends to keep skating in shows! He's scheduled to skate in AoI in Davos on Feb 12-13, so I guess he's dashing up to Lillehammer immediately after the last show, missing the first couple of days of YOG?

Hope all this is purely theoretical. I truly hope so!

I'd better not have seen this (even though it's a beautiful picture). Because, together with the practice video he posted yesterday (where he says 'he can't push with his left leg') and which, I guess, was filmed only recently … I'm a bit worried now … .

Life is short, one can sleep later, can't we !?!
Thank you for finding the interview, Gaja , and let's go: "The indiscrete Interview" After a photo shooting, Stephane accepted to answer some indiscrete questions.
What have you been afraid of as a child?- As a child I was afraid of spiders and needed the help of somebody to chase them away. Have you ever payed for love?- I would not even think of that. I think that the most interesting thing in love is seduction. Love without seduction is sad. Whom you find sexy?- Even Angela Merkel est sexy. There's somebody for every taste. Have you ever killed?- The Spiders. I finally had the courage to do this. Is there something you miss?- I miss not to have enough time. As a child, what did you want to become?- Skater. Always. I loved to watch skating on TV before I actually started. It's one of the few sports I could imagine for me. I visualized how I wanted to be, with what costume, to which music. Today I live what I have dreamed of back then. What is true happiness?- I think to be able to live one's passion. What is your best quality?- To be complete, I would say. Your biggest regret?- Not to have done more dancing. (P.S.: not 100 % sure I understand him correctly, here ) Have you ever stolen? - When there's a buffet, I use it generously. I love cakes and generally if they've gone it's because I've stolen them all. What's your little weakness?- Biscuits, chocolate, cakes. Have you been a wise child?- I looked like a wise kid but I was a little monster. I wanted to lead everyone and had a bit of a competitive spirit already. Which was your biggest shock in childhood?- I had tied mine and my brothers feet together and wanted to have a race in the hall of our house. My brother fell and had a head wound. It was a shock. What would you take with you on a lonely island?- I think many videos of Nurejew and a lot of music to be able to dance. I guess I would just dance. Watch the videos and dance. There wouldn't be time for something else. Do you believe in god?- Yes, I believe in god. God is all around us, everywhere. The energy of the world is something unbelievable. The fact that we can move, have an intelligence, have ideas, a consciousness … Supernatural. It's god.

Gaja, thank you for finding this interview, and jomeku, thank you very much for staying up late and so quickly translating it for us. I always enjoy Stephane's stories on himself about what he did to his sister and brother when they were kids. He surely does love those sugary desserts! I don't understand his response about being complete as his best quality, but he certainly is a multi-faceted man.

Welcome, ladies ! Tisha: What I translated with "being complete" as his best quality ('être entier' in French) could be translated also - or maybe better - as: 'well rounded', 'whole being', 'entire being', 'whole self'. To me it means to be a person who does not hide who he/she is; a honest person towards himself and towards others who is aware of and lives/expresses his/her facets. And, for my English lesson: which word would be the best to replace the "being complete" ? (Thanks to Stéphane we can practice and improve our language skills here. Veery good side effect!)

You are very welcome, jomeku and tisha . To be fair, it wasn't me who found this interview. It was posted on FB and I just brought it here My interpretation of these words was a term often repeated during his competitive career that "he is a complete package" - an excellent athlete but at the same time an outstanding artist. Thanks to you, jomeku now I can see that it could be something more. Oh, how he likes to be enigmatic I'm afraid that I'm the last person who could help you to find a proper word in English, jomeku

Jomeku, your translation is correct. I asked only because Stephane chooses his words carefully and my French is poor, so I just wanted to be sure of what he meant. For example, in a studio interview a year or so ago, he referred to himself as "Un epicurien" - in American English, the word generally has come to mean a person who savors great food and excellent wines, but of course in French the meaning is broader, extending to all the finer things in life (which I think perfectly fits Stephane's attitude!). In the new interview, an American probably would have said "I'm well-rounded" but a Brit or an Aussie might use a different term. Please don't worry about your English - you do a wonderful job translating, and your efforts are very much appreciated! I certainly was not criticizing the translation, just trying to better understand our favorite skater-intellectual!! Thank you for your detailed explanation!

Don't worry at all, Tisha: I don't take your question as criticism at all! Actually I often do doubt if I find the correct words. Not only because my English is veery medium, but also because statements of a person often are quite 'open' and leave room for interpretation. So I try to be very careful when translating Stéphane's 'open' statements to do it in a neutral way that does not reflect my personal interpretation. What I find is quite difficult sometimes … but interesting to do. Yes, it's interesting to try to understand the broad personality of our skater … and maybe we already have a question for a future meeting: what does it mean to him, to be 'well-rounded', "d'être entier" . Thank you for your explanations, Tisha! It's interesting and I DO appreciate! Gaja, surely you are right: when during his competitive career it was said 'he has the complete package' they were indeed talking about his skating skills, athletically and artistically. But in this interview, I'm sure it's meant in a personal way. In this aspect too, it looks as if he had a quite complete package . (Off topic: talking about a complete package concerning skating skills: My congratulations to Javi for his European title!!!) and there are quite some interesting newcomers. (But may I add that I missed Stéphane and certain rivalries during the competition ).

In this aspect too, it looks as if he has a quite complete package . (But may I add that I missed Stéphane and certain rivalries during the competition ). Well, God was truly generous when He was creating this human being I miss him too, but nevertheless, I am very pleased that we still have opportunities to enjoy and admire his skating Google alert has sent me a link to a pretty new, fairly long audio interview - glowbi.net/patinage-artistique-le-patinage-suisse-selon-stephane-lambiel-23-01-2016/Enjoy listening, lucky French-speaking people
