But it already is a beautiful program In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful and sensual Stephan's (and Deniss of course) program lately.

The first part is indeed among most beautiful and sensual Stephane's creations and it gives a promise and shows how exceptional it could have been. But it is not and it makes me sad each time I watch it (and I actually try not to re-watch it because of that). Sorry, Deniss' fans. I wrote about it more earlier when this collaboration was discussed, won't repeat, just couldn't help mentioning, sorry again, Deniss' fans.

I say, and this is my personal opinion, this program could have been much - no, MUCH - better as a solo program. You're absolutely free to have a different opinion.

Saw this tweet related to JO, anyone knows what it is about? I got help on Twitter! Translation: [Tell us about your home country] SL:Recommend to visit Gruyères. Enjoy raclette, and also, visit Gruyères Castle, and hiking at Alps is lovely. DV:Visit Daugavpils,Mark Rothko Art Centre. “Art Hub”’s steak is really tasty. Daugavpils Ice Arena is where I started skating. Q&A Q1) Is there any episode you could share with us that emotionally moved you to laugh or cry. Q2) Is there any jinx or lucky charms or routines you do before the performance. Q3) What is your most memorable programs, and why. Q4) Tell us about the song your favorite songs SL: 1) I cried when I saw Shae-Lynn Bourne’s performance dedicated to Denis Ten, in Friends On Ice at August. 2)10 different warm-ups.Including the vocal exercises to warm up my respiratory function! 3) Tom Odell’s “Sense”. It’s one of the programs I put in my private emotions. 4) Anything that’s has to do with Britney Spears raises me up! Shae-Lynn Bourne's tribute: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UghcbIzxZ_oDV 1)I visited France the other day, and I found out my favorite place near the eifle tower’s tree was cut down, and it made me very sad. I really liked the view there including the tree. 2)I usually always wear sleeveless jacket when I do my warm-ups. 3)I don’t remember the song’s title, but the music I used at 2011 Lithuania tour, and the fascinating costume! And also my brand new FP! This will be my first performance, but it’s already my special music. 4) I listen to many music with any genre. Starting with 18th century classical music, jazz when I want to relax, and pop before the competition. This Q/A came from the booklet they prepared for Japan Open, in the same booklet there was also an interview with Stephane. A few notes from that interview: Which skaters interests him: Nobunari is still extending his skills maybe it’s because he’s also doing coach, it suffers you with not enough time to practice but inspires your soul. Loved Japan Open to compete as Team Europe, since Swiss national team was always a small group. The first time he was in JO was 2006, and just brought back the “Four Seasons” from 2006 Torino. It was unusual experience, &can’t remember what he was thinking back then 12 years ago. But it was fun to bring back the precise rhythm and make it into new program with originality. He also mentions“ I don’t know how many more long years I can perform, but any Ice, any show will be special to me. I want to perform with all my heart, and be connected with the audience.” Thank you very much to @mramadeus4jazz for all the info.

Nope, it is not (good to know that it was appreciated, even if it's only now that I learn about it ). But it doesn't make me less sad when I watch "Nocturne" and think that "It could have been such a beautiful program". And the better Stephane skates his part, - and it was better this time - the sadder it make me.

So we have to watch them? What a hardship... 😉 In all seriousness, Bilibili seems to work well - one of Deniss’ fans has been using it, and it seems to let you gather all the videos from an event (or versions of the same program from different events) together. Not sure how much the functionality depends on your ability to read Chinese? Thanks for your work in preserving these performances!

I hope so, Stephane will tell us many more stories, but this time he wanted to talk about his way with Deniss. "Nocturne" couldn't never be solo, this is their joint history.

I hope so, Stephane will tell us many more stories, but this time he wanted to talk about his way with Deniss. "Nocturne" couldn't never be solo, this is their joint history. Of course it could, it could have been a very beautiful program to this very same music. And his part, and his practice video from Oberstdorf clearly show it. I absolutely can see what an exceptional program it could be. If would have been a different story, of course, it it would have been much more beautiful story for me. (And the story about passing his inspiration etc already was told by them with "Four Seasons" at AOI and it was more than enough for me). Stephane has any right to tell whichever story he wants, but I also have a right to have whichever opinion about the story he tells. And to be sorry about the story which could have been told but wasn't. If you really need me to spell this out, OK, the main reason this program is not as beautiful as it could have been is because Deniss is so far from Stephane's level of sensuality, maturity and expressiveness that it ruins this program for me. I do feel we're going in circles. And I don't see any point to continue this discussion. You don't need to understand me really. But also I don't see any reason why I need to continue to justify myself for wishing Stephane to skate alone to this beautiful music or for thiking that he is much better skater than his student.

Thanks Taipeifollowers! I’m so glad to see this program (and was alarmed when it wasn’t in the initial broadcast). It is heart wrenching and so so beautiful

Thank you very much for sharing! I saw a lot of performances of this program, in different years (he returned to it in season 2013/14 for a few shows), a few times I was very lucky to see it live. And, frankly speaking, this was not his best performance. He looked kind of slower, heavier than usual and then there was also this fall. But this time this program was not really performed for us, for the audience. And I can imagine how hard it was for Stephane to skate it. When at the very end he talked to, I guess, Denis, it was absolutely heartbreaking and made me cry... I want to quote what fans were kind to translate from the commentary: Denis was Stephane's very first student of his choreography. It was Denis who came to Stephane for their first choreo collaboration 8 years ago after he had seen Stephane performed this program. "To be honest, I still couldn't accept the fact that he's gone. But hope I could accept it after I performed this program at CaOI. I would like to dedicate this program to him." He said, with his tears in his eyes.I still can't really apprehend that Denis is not with us. I promised to write an article for AS about Denis, I had a lot to recall and to write but I just couldn't make myself to do it. As if as long as this article is not written he is still alive for me. But probably I should do it...
