Personally I like this collaboration a lot. And Deniss' expression during Stéphane's speech is hilarious I like it too! Most importantly, they enjoy this collaboration and "felt at the same time the strength of each other"! Ohh, Deniss' expression is charming and funny

Thank you, taipeifollowers ! Shoma in his costume, ready for '4Seasons', Stéphane still in his training cloth. It reminds me of when Shizuka Arakawa said Stéphane gets ready only a minute before his performance

Thank you very much, taipeifollowers!! I've already thought we'll never get to see anything of this show. Now i'm very glad Only: the last of your mentioned videos -'Warmer in the winter'- is not available . Maybe wrong 'address'? Don't know why, Japanese TV decided to broadcast the show in January, and so glad that we can watch it. There are some interesting highlights, such as Stephane + Kanako, Stephane + Shizuka (of course ), and the absence of Daisuke, Stephane seems to be the key figure of XOI... The 'Warmer in the winter' can be watch it now, sorry for the wrong setting... Here is the finale: Part 1 youtu.be/TreqUCuxa9YPart 2 youtu.be/AkPf23b1bPkPart 3 youtu.be/_v9cNM1QpgwPart 4 youtu.be/hFTkhCA38ZQ

Oh, obviously Stéphane really had multiple roles in the show . Gosh, he must be a fast learner, if I remember well he just had a couple of days to prepare between Vancouver and the show. Wow! Thank you for all the uploads, taipeifollowers !

On August 24, 2018, Stephane’s fan meeting was held at Shin-Yokohama, Japan. He stayed in Japan to appear at Friends on Ice.
Unfortunately, we did not get permission to publish videos and pictures taken at the venue at that time. Therefore, we transcribed the conversation at that time.
We can not report in English because we are not very good at English, but I will write a conversation with him here.
Since it will be a little longer, we will upload it in 2 times.
August 24, 2018 @yokohama, Japan
Stéphane Lambiel Fan-meeting
SL=Stéphane Lambiel CT=Christopher Trevisan <>=action []=fan voice ()=suppleme
■Showing up:
KONBANWA! How are you? KONBANWA!”
<Receiving the flower from a fan> Thank you…Thank you so much!
Where should I sit? Here? Thank you so much. I will put my stuff..(bag on the floor)”
<Climbs over the couch to sit down>
Thank you. Nice to see you, it’s a such nice view (outside the window).
<Finds the fan art poster that was designed for today> That’s so nice --STEPHANE LAMBIEL FANMEETING-Oh nice poster, wow. It is very nice. Is it a reverse of the foot?
CT: Yeah, it represents shadow.
Nice. Lovely.
[The designer:Thanks.]
You did it? Oh, you should be helping me with the designing of coaching project.
Please. Feel free to ask anything, please.
■Q1.
[Questionnaire(Q&A) start]
Feel free to ask anything, please.
----------------- (Question 1) First Question: You were wearing the Zebra costume today at the show. Does that mean your mannequin at the Olympic museum is now naked?
I will answer in English, right, so everyone can understand?
Yes, actually the mannequin, I think, is either naked, but probably not shown. Naked in the basement or somewhere in the storage room waiting for the costume. Waiting for the costume to go back to the museum. Uh…Last week <pointing to Mr. Trevisan sitting beside> Chris organized to pick up the costume, And costume came here, and next week, going back to the museum. Yes.
■Q2.
----------------- (Question 2) We love your article on SPUR magazine, “Sensei and I”. Is there any story behind the photo shoot you could share for us?
Um…so you want to know about the photo shooting. Um…so I think, so as you know I love fashion… <As he turns to face down to see SPUR, the interpreter told him to look forward> …Sorry? <Tells SL to look up to show more of his face to the fans, so he looks up and waves his both hands to the fans>
So as you know, I love fashion, and I was very honored when the magazine asked me to do the photo shooting last year, and they wanted to do again this year. So we did it during Kobe, Fantasy on Ice. When we arrived with Deniss (Vasiljevs), and we meet them at the photo shooting that day, and their idea was to, they really, the photo shooting organization, they really loved my coat, my coaching coat, so that’s why they organized to wear such a coat to get close to what I’m usually wearing. And then I think they wanted to do more like a little bit of modern taste of us. For example on this picture, it’s very much like a “Romeo & Juliette”. movie. The spirit of Romeo and his friends.. that’s the kind of spirit. And I think actually Deniss looks little bit look like Leonardo Dicaprio.
So, this was to probably show more candid spirit, with the white sweater. And I was also wearing some white. Maybe we can see it on the beginning (of the page). <He tried to find by turning over the page, but he could not find it. Probably because the direction is opposite to the European style>
We did many many pictures, so not all of them, but I was wearing white also. And here, they asked us to jump. So we did the lots of version of this jumps. And finally this one was really special. It was really random, like. they didn’t ask us special jumps. Just asked “Let’s jump!”. and Deniss was doing one move, I was doing another move, but eventually We got some very nice positions.
And about this one, I think it was more like a HARRY POTTER kind of mood and atmosphere. And he (Deniss) was also wearing glasses at the beginning, but then they (the crew) decided to put glasses only on me, so it was really fun to act, in this photo shooting. And we had lot of pleasure. Deniss also. It was for him, it was special moment. To be able to wear such a beautiful clothes just a short time. We both enjoyed I think he (Deniss) also is more and more conscious about the style, and how to fit the clothes together. So, It’s a good experience for both of us.
■Q3.
----------------- (Question 3) If possible, could you tell us what motivate you to participate the Japan Open in October?
So, the question is; if I can tell you why I was motivated to participate in Japan Open? I myself will not participate the Japan Open because I’m not one of the team mates. But I’m very excited that Deniss is. My first Japan Open was 12 years ago. And 12 years ago…so…I was 21. And now Deniss is 19. So it’s a good time for him to experience Japan Open by himself. And I will skate in Carnival on Ice, and Deniss as well. So, it’s good I will be there to cheer for him during competition, and after that I will take part in the show. I’m very, very happy that he can join the team, and represent Team Europe with Carolina, my good friend.
■Q4.
----------------- (Question 4) Which program would you choose to skate, IF you have to skate a program from your past competitive career. (Either from SP or FS)
I think if I …So the question is, which program I will choose, which kind of competitive program that I will choose if I have to compete again, or if I have to skate on competitive program? I think if I skate one day in Japan Open, or such a professional competition, I would prefer to make a new program. I would not want to skate an old program. I would try to challenge myself, and make a new choreography. And make a new costume, and create something new. I would prefer that to bring back something for the competition. But for the show, open to for this occasion, I was very happy to skate to the Vivaldi “Four Seasons” with Shouma. It was very nice collaboration. So, I’m open to skate old programs, but if I would skate in a exhibition, I would prefer, in a competition, I would skate a new program.
■Q5.
----------------- (Question 5) Do you have any special music in your heart, that you would definitely want to perform before you retire from Ice shows in the future.
I have a very, very, very long list of music I really want to perform. And I don’t know if, I have as many years as I need to skate all the music I want. Because there are SO MANY. I really love Cello concerto by (Edward) Elgar. And I really love Goyescas played by…what’s her name…Alycia De Larrocha. And I have many pieces that I really want to skate to. And I just need to find the right moment to do it. So, time will happen. Soon. But..yes, very excited to think about new programs.
■Q6.
----------------- (Question 6) We know you have been asked this question so many times, but is there any updates about your Next “Ice Legends”?
Well…as you know, this year has been very, very busy. And we really enjoyed organizing “Ice Legends”. In 2014, and 2016, and we really wanted to make it work in 2018, but I think it wasn’t the right time. Because of the Olympics, and I really needed to focus more on the school with my students. And it’s also important to put the energy where I need to. And but it’s still in my heart, this project is in our heart and our team is really working hard to make that happen, so one day, this will happen but I can not tell you exactly when. But soon! Right?<Asking Mr.Trevisan>
CT: Sure. <laughs>
[We hope so.]
■Q7.
----------------- (Question 7) You seem to be very busy. How many hours do you sleep in a day?
So, it’s actually funny because my sister called me this afternoon, and she was asking me quite personal question. “How do you find the resources to keep going and to have always the energy? “ And I think one of the points that makes me want to work more, or want to live more experiences is to sleep. I really need to sleep. And sleeping is probably my first, FIRST priority to recover. So…usually, I need 8 hours per day. And when I can not have 8 hours per day, I try to catch up somehow. So, it’s very important. Eating and…Sleeping, and good food. I really love to cook very healthy and good food. Very important to me the quality of the products that I eat. And then, I think every day I need to do something for myself. It can be just a little of stretching, or it can be a facemask, or it can be listening to music, or it can be ironing, it has just one moment during the day where I can be by myself and center myself. And, that’s my resources. I guess. Good food, good sleep, and one moment for myself each day.
■Q8.
----------------- (Question 8) Especially in winter, is there any place you could recommend us to visit in Switzerland?
Why winter?
[Because your fans will go to Switzerland in winter for to see you on “Art On Ice” ]
Ah…
[Anywhere except the Chocolatier “Tristan” and “Blondel” that you have mentioned a lot before. ]
I understand. I really, really love Zermatt. Because it’s a very special place. I mean it’s very touristy, but I understand why there are so many tourists., because it’s so beautiful.
Um… but Champery is also very nice. It’s very cute but it’s much smaller, and not so touristy, so more quiet. And probably if you come in winter, you can find the snow, so it’s a lovely place. In the summer, it’s very beautiful because the mountains are clear, and you can walk everywhere. It’s very pretty.
And…I think, anywhere around…how do you call that …<Asking to Chris> the lake next to Luzern? It’s a very beautiful lakes with lots of arms. This lake is very, very special, like you should take a boat, but not in winter, but in the summer. Take a boat, and you can visit this lake. It’s very, very pretty. Every mountains around there is very beautiful.
In Davos, if you come for the Art on Ice, I think In Davos, it’s really great to ski, if you like to ski. And if not, there is very nice Café in Davos, which is “Kaffee Klatsch”, and that’s a lovely place. Very good coffee, and very good pastries. I love this place. (http://www.kaffeeklatsch-klosters.ch/) CT: You won’t find the table anymore there.
No…no…. So yeah what about.. a place to eat in Champery? <Asking to Chris>
CT: Ski slopes.
Ski slopes? There is a very lovely place on the ski slopes, It’s called “Chez Coquoz”. (http://restaurant-coquoz.ch/) And the lady is very wonderful because she picks her own mushrooms, and her own flowers, and her own herbs, and she’s cooking with them, so it’s very good place also to eat cheese fondue. Yeah…but you need to put the ski, I think. <laughs>
CT: We usually walk there.
But in winter…Yeah, but there’s a lot of snow.
■Q9
----------------- (Question 9) We heard a bit of story that you & Deniss visited Kyoto. If possible, could you share us where you visited, and did you experience any interesting activities you did?
So in Kyoto,…We went to ARASHIYAMA. And, we visited the bamboo forest.(Sagano)
And after the bamboo forest… we also visited the.. I don’t remember, I’m sorry, the name is too difficult.
But we visited the very nice temple, like, kind of temple.. and there was beautiful garden. And we didn’t go in the temple, but we visited.. it’s next to the bamboo forest.
TEN…TEN… TENTOU…
[The name is the temple…in ARASHIYAMA?]
In ARASHIYAMA, yes.
[TENRYUJI?]
YES! And we visited the garden.
[Is it the temple with the stone circle garden? ]
There’s also a nice pond.
[TENRYUJI we suppose ]
I think so. I’m sorry for(forgetting )the names.<laugh>
I can not remember anything! But the garden was very nice, and the bamboo forest. After the bamboo forest, we walked in the neighborhood. And it was so lovely because children were coming back from school, and it was very peaceful, and they were all happy to finish school and go back home.
It was very lovely to see that kind of situation. And after that, Deniss really loves fresh TOFU, so we ate in a restaurant some fresh TOFU from Kyoto. And also that was also really, really good.
■Q10.
----------------- (Question 10) What do you like to do other than skating?
Like I said, I really love ironing. And because probably I travel a lot, when I get home, I’m so happy I can wash everything and after I can iron, and pile everything, and get my life organized. When everything is organized, I can travel again, and that’s my usual routine. It’s really enjoyable. And activities that Deniss, I share with Deniss is cooking.. I really love to cook. And I think because I love to cook, he start to love to cook also. I was trying to explain him which ingredients are very rich, and good for him, which (ingredients) are less important. And from there, I think his interest for cooking started. And, yeah, it’s fun because now he became almost better than me cooking. He’s so precise especially in cooking...ah.. desserts. <“delicious” in hand gesture>. One day, I’m sure that I hope that one day you will try his pastries. They are the best.

It is a continuation.
■Q11.
----------------- (Question 11) Have you visited Japan many times, but are there any places you would like to visit in Japan without going yet?
If I have some place that I would like to visit in Japan, that I haven’t seen yet. Yes, I think I would love to go into south, some OKINAWA. Islands, and to enjoy the Japanese beaches. I heard it’s very beautiful. Actually Chris, he loves scuba diving. I can not scuba dive. Because I’m a little bit of claustrophobic. I get very nervous. And I tried, and I was OK.
CT: Very impatient.
But I’m very impatient. And scuba diving is very, very slow activity, and for me it’s too slow. And after I watch the fish, I just want to go back to the boat. I don’t need to stay with the fish. I’m not a fish. So I can enjoy the boat and the sun. That’s what I like. But Chris enjoys the fish, right?
CT: Absolutely.
We tried actually scuba diving with Max and Tatiana.(Maxim Trankov & Tatiana Volosozhar) But Maxim was...
CT: But Maxim was bleeding the whole time.
Yes Max had to much pressure <on his nose, so he had bleeding nose>. So bleeding. No more scuba diving. And Tanya is a little bit like me.
CT; Yes.
Maybe Tanya is same like every...little bit impatient, so just watching the fish.. and enough.
■Q12.
----------------- (Question 12) Do you have any special treasured music or program that you have been keeping for someone to skate, someday in the future? Is there anyone you would like to choreograph?
(Is this water ) Not for me? <laugh>
[No, it’s for you<laugh>]
CT: Stop drinking! Answer the question!
<The waiter brought a pizza.> <laugh>Your pizza is here.<to Mr.Trevisan/*He was hungry, and ordered the pizza.> <When SL tried to put the poster light on the table elsewhere, CT stopped it.> I know it‘s on the floor, I can see it. <SL put the light on the table on the floor> There’s many playlist on my phone, and usually when I listen to music, I can picture the skater. So I always try to picture someone when I listen to the music…
<Everyone getting distracted by Chris eating the pizza)> DAIJYOBU, DAIJYOBU…(“It’s alright” in Japanese), Don’t worry. He’s good.
CT: Don’t worry about me.
Ignore. He is fine. <to CT>Enjoy your pizza.<laugh>
CT: It’s wonderful.
So, like I was saying, for each music, if I like the music I try to understand which skater can skate that music. And on my phone, I have many playlist, and for each skater, I put some music. Yes. I love to do that. Already when I was a kid, I put some music, and I was playing every figure skater. I watch the World championship, and then, I skate this skater, and then I skate this skater, I skate this skater….and I put music and I made a program for each skater. That was already kind of my imagination.
■Additional Question(Q13)
[While Chris is eating Pizza, we would like to give additional questions. ]
<Tries to take away the Questionnaire (Q&A) notebook away from Stéphane’s hand> No…I want more!!! …Oh, your (you’re giving me) additional question?
----------------- (Question 13) We heard you stayed in very famous luxurious hotel in Shizuoka. How was the place? And I heard you can choose between Japanese “FUTON”, or the normal bed. Which did you sleep in?
Shizuoka was the last city on “Fantasy on Ice”? I had a normal bed. But I have slept many times in the FUTON. Totally fine with me. It’s actually very comfortable. I like because it’s (the mattress) little bit harder. I don’t like so much the soft mattress.
But this experience in the nice hotel,,,Japanese hotel was lovely, and food was SO good. And garden was so nice, and very peaceful, and we have ONSEN(hot springs) also. So we can enjoy before dinner we go to ONSEN, and it was very special among the skaters. And I think during 15 shows, we became very close to each other so…..
<Suddenly, Stephane realizes he has been holding the SPUR magazine in his arms the whole time> She disturbs you, right?<laughs/ put the magazine away aside.>She is here…
So, it was very nice time to .share with many skaters. In the morning, we go to the breakfast with the like a robe, so it feel very comfortable, peaceful. Very, very nice. I really enjoyed. I hope next year we will go to this hotel (again). Yeah, it was really lovely.
■Q14
----------------- (Question 14) Is there any music you would like to perform now, with your own choreography.
I don’t know, do you have any ideas? I don’t know…nhuhu<laugh>
[Onegin!] Onegin? OK. Who is composer? Who is composer of Onegin? <Everyone thinks 'who was it ...?' The choreographer's name goes up, but the name of the composer does not come out.> I will check today. [Maybe someone in Russia…] Russian for sure, but I don't know it’s a Tchaikovsky or someone else. [Prokofiev?] Or maybe Prokofiev? Let's check today.
[How about William Tell? ]
William Tell? I’ve already skated.
[But it was only one part…]
OK. I would love to skate one more time, ah.. Piano concerto by Grieg. But my dream is the 3rd movement. But they want 1st movement. But I really love the 3rd movement so.. Yeah, it’s one of my favorite concerto. And last month, I went to (Fukuma) Kotaro’s concert in Switzerland. And he played so many beautiful music, and after I have so many image in my head. I really, really love the Piano ver. of “Pictures at an exhibition” from Mussorgsky. So strong. And we skate this piece at ICE LEGENDS for the finale. I really love this music. So, many, many inspirations.
■Q15.
----------------- (Question 15) Which point do you focus or give importance when you choreograph?
I think, the most importance is that choice of the music. Choice of the music fitting with the skater. It sometimes take a little bit of time to find the right choice, or the right skater, but then, when you feel it’s connecting. It’s very easy to create some atmosphere, some movements. But first, starting point is the choice of the music. That from there, you can try to understand what the music wants. What do I have to express with this music. How to build up, how to compose the program. For the competition program, you need a skeleton of elements. You need to build up through those elements It also needs to be comfortable, but at the same time it needs to have a little bit of challenge. It can not be too easy. It has to fit. So the balance between the comfortable pattern, but interesting move with music. Connect with music, and create the atmosphere. So the right choice, with the right skaters, create the atmosphere. Then, we need to put some heart in this atmosphere.
■Additional Question(Q16)
[Do you remember this T-shirt? It’s an official goods of Stéphane Lambiel. ]<laughs>
I have this T-shirt also.<laughs>
----------------- (Question 16) Do you have any plans for making this kind of goods again? More any official goods?
More…more… Manager…?<To Chris>Are you ready to merchandise some of my goods?
CT: Sure.
I would love to. We actually now have some jackets from our school, so we can give it to our skaters. They’re so happy to wear them. So, I understand. I really want to (make new merchandise)!<laughs> So maybe you can wear our school uniform.<laughs>
CT: That will support lt of our skaters.
Yeah!<laughs>
■Additional Question(Q17)
[Maybe just another additional questions? Is there anybody who wants to ask him?]
----------------- (Question 17) You performed musical numbers once, and it was the “Chorus Line”. Why did you choose this specific number?
Oh, Chorus Line is coming to Tokyo? Oh, Nice! Actually I was working with the dance from Béjar ex. dancer from the Béjart ballet. And I met him…How did we meet … Octavio?<Asking Chris> We watched his performance, and after his performance I was very impressed. So I went to congratulate, and we became friends. And after that, we decided to work, try a collaboration together. And he recommend some music that he thinks fit with my skating. And one of the music was the Chorus line. So I didn’t know Chorus Line before, but I start to listen and check the musical. And I love the idea of this company of the dancers willing to create the show, about each personality, each person having career, and explain their career, so that was for me very interesting story line. And it’s funny because during this summer camp, this summer, my students created the small musical on the floor with the ballet teacher, and it was on the Chorus Line. It was very, very, very good. I was so happy to see them. They perform and they sing during that class. So Chorus Line, I think it’s very nice classic musical piece. And I was trying to create a new world with my performance on the ice.
■Q18.
[It is almost time for Chris to finish eating pizza, so the next one is semi-final question.] <There is only a piece of pizza left.> Do you like the pizza? CT: It’s original. Original!! <CT explains in detail about the pizza.> It‘s a mixed! CT; Mixed pizza!?
----------------- (Question 18) We would like to ask you some questions regarding your vision as a figure skater/Performer..
I mean… tonight, I was watching two performances, (Tamura) Yamato, and Shae-Lynn (Bourne). And both programs, they were really Interesting for me. Because,…For example, Yamato I don’t know him so well. But when he was skating, I could feel his personality. So for me, a performer is someone who is able to share what is inside of him. And when I watch his performance, I forget so many things because I can connect with what he is sharing. But usually, I don’t know what he feels, or what he thinks, or what he wants to say, because we are not so close friends. But when he was skating, I can understand what he saying. So, that’s very interesting because performer is expressing something. And good performer is expressing something, that people go understand without knowing this person, but you will understand. And that’s something beautiful, that something,,,that you can find in ballet, you can find in figure skating, you can find in many arts, probably in Kabuki, in many different aspects of art. Concerts, music, paintings. You get an impression, and you get some emotions. It’s giving a little bit of yourself.
[It’s your vision?]
Yes. I don’t know if that’s right or not , I don’t know. But that’s my vision when I watch a movie, or when I watch a painting, or when I watch a performance. I feel some connections.
■Q19.
----------------- (Question 19) As a coach in a far future, how would you like to lead your students, and the next generations. Do you have any targets, ideal image as coach?
As a coach in a far future.. It’s right now, actually.<laughs> Well, it has been 4 years that I’m coaching, more than 4 years. And I take a lot of pleasure of coaching And from coaching, and it’s...I didn’t...when I was a skater, I was watching my coach every day, and I understood it’s such a hard life. And maybe I can not do this hard life. But now I’m in this position, and I really love it. And I understand why he (my coach) did it, and he did it because he loves it. He loves figure skating. He loves connecting with his students, and helping his students. And I want to do best for all my students. I want to develop their potential, I want to guide them, and I want to help them to pass the obstacles. I can not pass the obstacles for them, but I can help them to face each obstacles. And give them the best keys to find the answer. So that’s my role. I’m a very young coach, but I want to learn more how to help them better. And this year has been very fruitful for me. I learned so much, because I asked help from many people. And those people, they showed me many visions and so many ways. And I can understand a little bit more. So, it was a very, very enjoyable summer, and enjoyable year for me so far. And I hope that my students will be as passionate, or more than me for figure skating, and for life. They will reach their goals. I want to have more understanding of their bodies, and of their souls. That’s my goal for them.
[Thank you so much.]
Thank you. Thank you so much.
I hope you could understand everything..., please translate it for me after this.
