Hey SilverLining,do you know if he was asked about his trip to the US? "Kathleen: You've done the European skating show 'Art on Ice' a number of times. In comparison, what has it been like doing your first full American skating show tour? Stephane: I was so happy doing the Champions on Ice tour because the shows are amazing. I think it's the best show I've ever been a part of, and it's a wonderful experience. I've enjoyed getting to know Michelle Kwan; she's very pretty and nice to me. I'm also close to Surya Bonaly, and actually everybody is quite nice and we operate like a big family. We get to have so much more contact than we could at a competition where everybody is concentrating and not speaking to eachother. It's also nice to be able to show skating fans in the U.S. what I can do, because so many don't really know me yet and that makes it exciting. In Switzerland of course I'm famous, but right now in America I'm new and still relatively unknown."

Can somebody tell me what he meant with "don't discourage them?"... Well, she said to him "It's no secret many fans consider you to have model good looks and are a bit curious as to your eligibility 'off the ice'. Do you care to comment?" and he joked about how they are free to approach him, then he commented about a previous relationship, and remarked how he'd like to keep his personal life private - his own "secret garden" as he said, then said "Other girls can try - don't discourage them". I think he just meant he didn't want it to sound like he was unapproachable after having commented about keeping his romantic life away from the public eye. Or maybe it was just a typo and supposed to read " I[/u] don't discourage them".

Yay! I love reading all these excerpts! Hee to what he said about the US COI tour. Despite the fact that I knew several years ago what he could do, I wasn't into skating message boards at the time, and thus didn't voice my interest in him and my other favourite, Alexei, anywhere but in my written journal. I wish I had, so he could've gotten a BIT more US exposure...oh well. hahaha. I'm glad he's getting the exposure now, though, certainly. Hehe about the non-discouragment comment. Now I can see all the newly minted fangirls buying plane tickets. Ok, and reading back on this thread, some of the older fangirls, too...hahahaha. I plan on running around switzerland myself when I go to study abroad in a year or so....hehe.
