Why? 'Cause she was the favourite? But people didn't throw anybody teddies... Well, Carolina was definitely the crowd fav in Torino but I think you're right when you say people didn't throw many teddies. On our way back to the hotel after the lp we carried I think 2 o 3 bags (not big ones) with all the stuffed toys she got thrown on the ice, so not that much. I guess it's because we don't have many skating events here (better say 'none'! lol) and people are not used at them, teddy-bears-throwing rituals included Also at the venue there was no chance to buy anything to throw on the ice... Looks like some people eventually opted for chocolate boxes which were sold at the rink cafè, Carolina got quite a few of those!

Anyway, Adastra, I hope you didn't have the impression Julia wasn't liked by Italian audience in Torino! Of course, Carolina was the favourite of them for obvious reasons (just like Julia was the yr before ) but they did appreciate all the skaters (and I guess it showed from the warm reception they got) no matter what country they were from. I mean, ppl went totally NUTS for Plushy and he's not italian!!! At least that was my impression and besides for those school kids I have a nice memory of audience in Torino... I just wish they weren't as noisy when Caro took the ice as it made her awfully nervous! My respect to Julia for being able to handle the pressure in Budapest and win there. I remember Caro too was very impressed with that. She was very happy for Julia that she won in front of her homecrowd and really admired her for being able to cope with the immense pressure she had on her shoulders
