Hi everybody, I was at Karel's first public practice today. I have to say that I was very very impressed with his skating. I love his new short program. It suits him very well, and his movements are all so nice. His overall quality of skating as greatly improved. He also landed very nice triple jumps, and also very very nice triple-triple combinations. It was such a treat to be able to see him skate. I took in total over 500 pictures today!! Yes, I got a new camera and I was testing it out. So far I like it a lot. They are not professional pictures yet, but they are so much better than what I could do with my other camera. I will post all my pictures online when I come back home, but especially for you, here is a sneak preview of some I really like. www.alika.ca/temp/IMG_0306.jpgwww.alika.ca/temp/IMG_0308.jpgwww.alika.ca/temp/IMG_0309.jpgI hope you like them too. Tomorrow is the short program. I made a really nice banner for him. Karel hasn't seen it yet. We will put it up tomorrow. I'll try to take a picture so you can see it. I'll keep you updated on how it goes. Caroline.

Hi everybody!! Today, again, I took a loooot of pictures. And a lot of Karel. Several of them are super nice! You will be able to see them all very soon I hope, once I have time to create a slide show of all of them. But in the meantime, here are a few from today: www.alika.ca/temp/IMG_0755.jpgwww.alika.ca/temp/IMG_0756.jpgwww.alika.ca/temp/IMG_0757.jpgwww.alika.ca/temp/IMG_0804.jpgwww.alika.ca/temp/IMG_0813.jpgwww.alika.ca/temp/IMG_0816.jpgwww.alika.ca/temp/IMG_1075.jpgwww.alika.ca/temp/IMG_1081.jpgwww.alika.ca/temp/IMG_1082.jpgKarel had a good practice today. Again, landed very nice 3-3. We made so much noice for him during his practice, and we had put the banner over the chairs so that he could see it. When he finished his practice, he waved at us. We had issues with the banner. We were told by people working at the rink that we weren't allowed to hang anything up. So during Karel's short program, we just waved the banner so that he (and everybody else) could see it. Later though, some people did hang banners. If they are still there tomorrow, I will go hang mine and take a picture for you. I just didn't want to have my banner confiscated. Believe me, the people here in Hartford are very strange. I'm usually a quiet person, but this week, I already had 2 incidents with the people at the rink, and it's been just 2 days... Karel noticed where we were sitting before he got on the ice for the warm up of his short program. Again, when he skated, we cheered very loud for him and waved the banner. He skated his SP to Blues for Klook. He did a very nice 2A. Not sure if he wanted to go for the 3A, but it didn't seem like it. Then nice 3F, but the supposed 3T was more like a 2 1/2. It's very unfortunate because he did such beautiful ones in practice. Then super nice 3L. I always loved his 3L!! Again, like I said yesterday, I love his short program. He seems to really feel the music. The choreography is very nice, he does beautiful movements, and it suits him very well. Good footwork, and some very nice spins; very low. I hope he his not too disappointed. I really enjoyed it! I have to also tell you this, which is pretty cool.... There was a professional photographer sitting in front of us at the practice. After the men were done skating, she told us that because of all the cheering we did for Karel, she noticed him and paid attention to him, which she would not have done otherwise. That's great. I hope Karel can get more known here in North America, and gain more fans! He so deserves it!! Ok, that's it for today. I really have to go to bed. Have to get up in about 4 hours... Tomorrow is the long program. Karel will skate first in the first group. Good luck to him!! I can't wait to see his Alexander program again. So far, in the practices, he only did his short program. Will update you all tomorrow night! Hope you enjoyed this... Caroline.

Thanks Caro, for your report, I enjoyed it very much!! And the photos, too, of course. Veryyy nice!! He is in 10th place now, but when you're looking at the Karl Schäfer Memorial, you know what he is capable of doing in the LP, so.... GO KAJO!!!

Oh Caroline, I'm blown away by your pics...and by Karel thanks so much for posting them, I'm looking forward for more! The report was great too! To bad he is yet again first in the starting order it might be difficult to get to see his LP, the SP wasn't shown yet grrrr, it seems we won't see him this season how could one not pay attention to Karel, he looks so great, he is an "eyecatcher", other than Lysacek or KVDP, they look boring, if I wouldn't know them, I wouldn't pay attention to them.
