Shaun, if you could give advice to skaters about jumping technique ... what would you say? What helped you to be able to really get your air technique down? Obviously your doing something right by landing quads!

It depends on the skater. For me as long as my setup and takeoff are right, changing over to the air position comes naturally. But if I do something goofy on my takeoff... I can start getting sideways in the air!
In general though, nice steady timing on the setup and keeping your shoulders level and checked (not opening them up too soon) are probably the most important things.

Shaun - Thanks for answering my question so quick. I admire your skating. Your jumps are pretty explosive. I find trouble really feeling my position in the air. Alot of time, I feel like I rotate over the center of my body - rather then over the right side . It happens 50/50. I'm lucky enough that my jumps are big, so any sloppy air position, ex. double lutz, is saved because of the heighth of my jumps. Triples have been tough, because of trying to find that rythm and good position. If you get a chance, do you mind sending me an email, and letting me know of any on/off ice exercises that may help? I'd also like to talk to you about the training at UD. I'm looking at possibly re-locating, and don't really want to be a board hog with back and forth questions, lol. So any info would be great! SpartanRacer@yahoo.com . Thanks buddy, and good luck to you. P girl - Yes, I do skate. I'm in Washington state. I'm not to Shaun's level just yet, but would like to be at that type of level someday. - David
