Alrighty... so not a lot of non-skating related things to report from St. Paul. It was so cold I was waiting to see penguins and polar bears walk through the streets and the schedule didn't allow for a large amount of exploration time. I did get to go to the Mall of America one day, which was kinda cool. It definitely didn't live up to the hype, but it was still a fun trip.
Skating wise, I was very pleased with how I skated. I was upset with my placement in my short, because that put me in the first warmup group and I didn't feel I belonged there, even given with how strong the whole men's field was in the short. I was very happy with how my long went, being able to pull up to at least where I finished last year. Wasn't quite my goal of getting onto either the 4CC or World teams, but I've still got another couple years to prepare for the really important year.
With my placement I'll probably get one of the Senior B assignments granted that I give a good show at Liberty. If this happens I would like to get Nebelhorn again, I love it there and know so many people. There's also the outside chance I could get the third spot at Skate America. Top 6 all will have Grand Prix assignments and Wesley currently has no ISU ranking points since he hasn't competed internationally for a few years. Usually they give that spot to someone who competed well in Juniors the year before, but Doug Razzano who made the JGP Final did not have a good freeskate at Nationals. So a lot of my plans for next season will ride on my performance at Liberty I think.
I'm planning on adding a 2nd quad toe to my long, probably where my 3Lutz is currently, and I'll be working on my quad sal and loop outside of my programs again. I was landing sal inconsistently last summer and was getting around on loops, so I think I can have one if not both of these by the end of the summer (not that they will be in my program, but hey who knows )
Anyways, there's my update for now TTY all soon
