Russian Nationals: Vladimir is fourth after short program!! He landed 3axel, 3lutz + 3toeloop (lutz was extremely high), 3flip. His presentation was very good and his step sequences were more difficult than I ever saw from him before (thanks to his choreographer - because every skater needs good choreography to show his qualities). Sasha is fifth, he fell on quad (underrotaded), but landed 3axel a 3lutz. Results - www.goldskate.ru/RussianNationals/fs-z-z-men-sp-z-z-z-z-z-results-rus.pdf

Vladimir finished sixth at Russian Nationals 2008 - that's great result!!! Congratulations! He again landed 3axel, than 2axel + 3toeloop, 2lutz + 2toeloop, huge 3loop with hand on the ice in landing, 3salchow, 2axel, 3flip, 3salchow + 2toeloop, improved his spins a little. He was very tired at the end of the program (many boys were so tired after their program - maybe there was bad air at the stadium so it was hard to breathe). sp - www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_eLargkRjE&feature=relatedlp - www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRoIaTFo1MYI hope he will change his long program next season. This music is so dark and without nice melody. Vladimir is figure skater who feels music so well (Tatiana Tarasova says it also), his presentation can be very emotional with support of good melodic music. Why can't he choose some great soundtracks like Robin Hood, First Knight or something like that? I would steal Romeo and Juliet program from Arthur Gachinski and gave it to Vladimir - he would be much more better Romeo than Arthur! Another weakness is choreography. Tarasova mentioned that Alla Kapranova (Artem Grigoriev's choreographer) helped him with step sequences to get higher levels - that was very good idea. Suddenly steps were more difficult and reflected the music very well. Good skater needs good choreography. I hope Vladimir's next programs will be choreographed by Kapranova or somebody as good as she is.
