Oh am I also sure he hasn´t seen the banner. Although he knows it excists because once he asked what the words on the banner meant, remember? But anyway, know what Kevin's like. Hard to explain but those how know him, know what I mean. Have fun at de LP tomorrow! Eurosport won't air it live, so I'm looking for a channel that does (and please no German one, cause I can't stand the language )

A few minutes ago Ruben performed his Free Skate and did a good job! (if you ask my opinion about a 15 year old that skates his first EC) He had some troubles with his landings and his spins but he did a good job at his first Senior European Championship, so I´m proud! He seemed to be not 100% satisfied, but I bet he´s ready for chearing for Kevin later tonight! Add from Mireille, live on stage: He got tired during his program and was pretty disappointed about his performance. Kevin and Jenna were chearing for him at the audience with a Belgian flag, right in front of Kevin's own "Ninoofse Soup Rulez - Go Kevin" banner ;D BTW Ruben gave a nice comment after the Short of yesterday (and so did Kevin). If you haven't read it yet, read it over here at AS => www.absoluteskating.com/reports/2008euros-mspq.html

Well, Kevin did skate his Free Program, but not the best ever. His fell on his quad and doubles his 3A But still, I´m very satisfied. His condition/health is not 100% so. He seemed to be ok with it, just like yesterday "I did my job, can't change anything about is". Didn't look angry or something like that. My guess is that he well end up 4th in the final standings.

I was still hoping for 4th as well, but didn't count the russian... 5th unfortunately (that means no gala i guess because it's usually the first 4 right?)
Kevin did miss his 3 axel and fell on the quad, but after the bad start, he did get himself together and the rest of the program was still good. Thought he was judged very harshly compared to verner, joubert and Lambiel...

Thought he was judged very harshly compared to verner, joubert and Lambiel... That happens to Kevin a lot if you ask me... So I guess I was wrong, he ended up 5th at the final standings: www.isufs.org/results/ec2008/CAT001RS.HTMRight now I feel so sorry for Kevin. I wish I was in Zagred right now and able to ask him is he's ok with it himself. That would make me a little less sad. BUT, love you anyway Kevin! (that means no gala i guess because it's usually the first 4 right?) As far as I know it's the top 5 of each discipline. I could be wrong, but if not: YAY

Yes he gets to skate in the gala, he was pondering what, he'd like to skate to "rood" what he used in IF, but he doesnt think it would be a good choice cos its dutch. So still thinking. And yeah, he is fine. He said he never will skate a warm-up again, cos all goes well then and then hayward in the program I saw him late tonight, at 1ish or so I think. He's in a bit "oh well" state, thinks that if he skated clean the max would have been 4th and at this moment 4th or 5th doesnt make *that* much of a difference... I kinda agree. He was tired (well duh) and got a nice drawing of fans. He spoke a while with some, took some pics, signed some... hmm, thats all I remember now, should have been in bed ages ago. Just wanted to let you know

Thanks guys for the results, I wouldn't be sad for Kevin. He went, he skated, and blew away 30 of the other competitors. We all hope for the top spots of course and sometimes fall into dissapointment but hey he did great. I'm proud of him WTG kevin great show and love a good sportsman.

Great news that Kevin will be in the gala! To me the difference between 4-5 was more about not being able to skate in the gala than about the placement. Off course it is still a great performance. Don't know why I was convinced he needed 4th place... Rood is a great program, but I'm afraid dutch may make it hard to believe... Curious to see what he decides on... Glad to hear he made some time for his fans! I think he did take it very well. Hope he'll be able to skate worlds, and keep a positive mind...

Neither Eurosport nor Swedish TV showed the first two warm-up groups so we didn't get to see Ruben. He should be proud though to make the free skate on his first Euros, I hope he is. And Kevin... I almost cried during his free program, especially since the stupid commentators made it worse by saying his skating skills are nothing special But I'm glad to hear he seems ok with the result. And I'm looking forward to watching him in the gala
