Thank you, stephanie2006 and reut!!
Coming home from work, the first thing I had to do was watching the recording of Opera on ice. I LOVED it! (despite all the commercial breaks). It's the first time that I could clearly see all the movements and postures of 'Toreador', beautiful postures, in my opinion … ( and the first time at all I thought I would have liked to see even some more jumps in a Stephane's program). I also loved 'Ave Maria', it felt like being carried away by a spherical breath of air watching it. But I liked everything and everyone else too, the music, and again I had goosebumps listening to the voice of the soprano Elisa Balbo.

One of "Opera on Ice" streams worked for me, so I could watch the show. To tell the truth I don't really understand the need to show so often the singers and the musicians. Their main purpose is to play, they need to be heard, not seen... I liked more how they showed "Ave Maria" (Stephane's skating was soooo fluent, soooo soft, wow). In "Toreador" the close ups were nice, but you couldn't really see the flow of the program, unfortunately.
And I agree, Elisa Balbo has absolutely stunning voice. I was very impressed by her already in Verona.

The part of the show with Ave Maria: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRfTkjOdyBsPity they showed so little of Stephane's skating with endless cuts. I know it's TV and they produce MTV style music vids not meant for skating fans but last year it was better so I was a bit dissapointed, hoped to see at least bits of a program. Fortunetly, there are fan videos to enjoy since he probably won't skate it again. Surprisingly, this is my favorite program this year (other than Paint it Black) although I'm not the fan of this music but Grigolo's singing is very sensitive with floating orchestra sound and Stephane's dancing it is devine, the entire program is like a single breath that even a kitchy angel can't disturb. The musicians and Stephane created a magic moment. Maybe someone will upload Carmen too. The show is great, very impressive and the music magnificent. I loved pair skaters and Carolina and Shizuka.

Thank you. I enjoyed the video of Carmen very much. Maybe it is not the most original program but very nice with many great details that make exceptional skating and great storytelling. The level of execution of details and performance is beyond any praize and it suits Stephane and his personality, you can see how much he loves it. And the ancient arena with thousands of people clapping and waving and being part of the program, big orchestra and chorus, amazing. It must have been unforgettable, also for Stephane, he won't get something like this even at the Olympics. And pianomaya's video of Carmen from Villars she uploaded (it is in Poeta costume, it's so strange to see him skate in it again ), I hope it's ok to post the link here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fR5eJyOcBLcThank you, your videos always a gift. It is the first video I can see the program with all details. This version is shorter than Opera on Ice, I will need to watch again.

Before the last chorus part, which is the refrain, there is a solo part with 15 bars. In the repeat this part was cut. The text is same like the following chorus part and also like the first time, so it has no effect on the story. Of course the singer would be no happy when it will cut in live concert or in the opera house

Thank you for the videos. I agree about the tv camera work for Opera on Ice.. I can understand that the musicians and singers - even if they should be listened and not seen - may wish tv visibility too (and they deserved, they were fantastic..)... but honestly, Ave Maria for example has a first part in which Stéphane is not even on the ice, why didn't they use that part to show us the musicians, and then keep the camera always on Stéphane for the second part? And even more, why do they record from such a distance and from above? ok it's nice to see the Arena, but show it when nobody is skating (for example when the presenters speak), you can't see anything of what is happening on the ice from that distance Glad that there is always youtube

Thank you pianomaya for Villars video - it was a Joy could see it ! I am more then agree with you Anna about the Opera on Ice Brodcasting (like every year - the director finds it difficult to do his job - and stops to follow a jump to see the beautiful panomara while the Arena or for frame opera's singers that could be shown in another moment of the Show Glad that exist youtube
