Me too, almost instantly. I like the articles of Ruth Spitzenpfeil, they are always thoughtful and sensitive. Me too, I like Ruth's articles. She is very talented journalist, I love her style and you can feel her empathy to Stephane. What irritates me in her articles though that you can never be sure what was based on facts and what was based on some guesses, her intuition or maybe even her will to make the article more "hot" and provocative. I can't trust anything which is not the direct quote. For example, phrases about changing FS, does is come from her? Or from him? Did he say something (then why not to quote exactly)? Or she just guesses and speculates? Based on her previous articles and from what I saw in Obersdorf, I think she more guesses and speculates. But, based on the same above, her guesses are usually pretty exact...

Faelkchen, thank you for bringing the article - pity it's so disturbingly sad Pia, thank you for a quick translation Elanor, I'd rather second your comments. As for the journalist - I guess, in the Olympic season everything written has some blur , for almost every journalist is wishing the best for his/her compatriot skater. And music - the supposed choices seem rather rough : Stephane has been always wonderfully elegant in his taste for some original theme and its interpretation. It would be great if he comes with some new smashing surprise! When a good choice has been made, wounds heal better.

Thanks for finding it, faelkchen Well, actually there is not much of an interview in this article - the journalist expresses mostly her own thoughts and guesses. But it contains some information which makes me really worried: pains don't stop, and as I was afraid Stephane might have delayed in Toronto not for training's sake but for treatment, and he doesn't sound as optimistic as he did on 26th of July any more. This feature's made me think that he might not be able to go to the Olympics despite all he has been through for this

This feature's made me think that he might not be able to go to the Olympics despite all he has been through for this Yes, but we always knew it. It would be victory even to skate there a good performance, all things considered. He can't train long and ther's not much time left. I just want him to be healthy and skate, the Olympics, medals are really secondary. On the other hand, I know it is special for skaters to be there and do their best. I don't think he would have come back if it hadn't been for the Olympics. Let's hope this can happen.

I think that all what we can do is just focus on "a young man, who has no illusions and yet radiates inner strength" and who says "If it works, it's a wonderful satisfaction. If not, it was still important and a right thing to try it."

I think that all what we can do is just focus on "a young man, who has no illusions and yet radiates inner strength" and who says "If it works, it's a wonderful satisfaction. If not, it was still important and a right thing to try it." I thought a lot about this sentence today. This and the one Stephane said in "Pardonnez-moi", that it's not the result at Olympics but the whole road to Olympics is what's important and interesting. Maybe we too, we should enjoy this road with him. This road is not only happy and good, but it has a lot of emotions in it, and emotional things bring colour to our lives, I think. I don't know about you all, but since July 25 for me it became more exciting and interesting than before, just to follow reports from shows... I'm not sure Stephane will get to Olympics, not sure about Euros either, I just try to take every competition as a gift. Maybe Nebelhorn will stay the only one we got, but it still was a huge and strong experience, and I appreciate a lot that I had it. Wishing Stephane health and carefulness. Now to some other matter. I wanted to read some stuff about Torino and Stephane's previous Olympic experience, I found some article about it translated from French to Russian, but I couldn't find the source. It was from "L'Illustre", the title was something like "This silver worth gold", it was written by Laurent Favre and it had every paragraph in text started from "Stéphane Lambiel a...". Can you recall something like that? I'm writing it in this and not "Old pictures/articles" thread, because I also googled this journalist's name and found some recent article from him: "Tango sur la glace" www.illustre.ch/tango_sur_glace_35871_.htmlIt's about the "tango" photo session Stephane and Sara had before the start of the season. I may translate it if you want, I really liked the style of this journalist. P.S. And, by the way, I really loooove the photo from NZZ article, inner strength it is.

And music - the supposed choices seem rather rough I suppose that music choices were deduced by journalist from the list of shows Stephane watched in Toronto (which he also mentioned in his journal). I'm not sure he explicitly named them in the interview with her.

Guys, I am the last not to worry but let's keep believing in Stephane! Let's not provoke the fate as the Russians say. He had a bad cold and a knee injury in Torino but still claimed the silver medal and then gold at WC in Calgary. He is stronger than anyone can imagine. No one, even he personally, knows his limits. Let's keep hoping that the world is not that bad that such a wonderful person like Stephane won't see his greatest dream fulfilled.

Maybe we too, we should enjoy this road with him. I agree. It is very sad to hear the news and the way Stephane and Mr. Grutter talk about the situation. I'm sure Stephane will do his utmost to be in his best condition come Olympic time, but he seems to keep it realistic. An elite athlete can't avoid injuries, and Stephane can make whatever choice he sees fit, whether to stop or go on. Stephane's been to two Olympics, he knows the process for the preparation. He's a strong person and he will know what to do. Although it is painful to know that he is so burdened, let's just hope that we keep strong as well...

How can anyone watch the tango and not see a masterpiece? I wish all the best for Stéphane. Even with the difficulties, he is trying for the Olympics. That says a lot about him as a person.

It's very sad to read that he continues to suffer from his injuries. I'll try to be positive and keep my fingers for him.

ooh, girls, yesyerday after reading the article...I would say emotions were not the best, but I tried to deepen them, to hide, maybe forget. Today reading your comments...a flash of image from october's conference rushed through my mind. I know, fans are selfish human beings, I'm scared of feelin deja vu again, too soon, after receiving a hope. I agree with Reut the only way out for us is to enjoy the Road

I agree with Reut the only way out for us is to enjoy the Road honestly I don't think so he could again retaired. In my opinion he will try to do the best on Olimpics but won't say "no" to this. He was waiting too long for it and wished it too much.
