Sinead DID have a sore throat when I saw them last week at home rink. Maybe it was just a bad day at the office. Have to leave it behind (after seeing what went wrong when they watch it back, I suppose) and go for broke at Olys.

Did anyone see CD? Robin Cousins said S&J made mistakes in all 3 events.

...and for my much needed (for myself) positive spin... it's not the Olympics so they had to drop off the mistakes before they get there! Seriously, though, that's rough and I can imagine part of the reason they probably didn't have their usual spark could be that they were a bit bummed about their performances and/or placements. I haven't seen any portion of the dance competition yet so I can't really comment but I'm bummed for them. So do you think the other teams deserved the marks they got..

This was the first competition i've seen all week (sadly) and the first time i've seen the Linkin Park routine, i really loved it, yes there were mistakes but it was nice to see (and hear) something different.
IMHO i though Dom/Shab were over marked, i appreciate where they used to be but the routine didn't excite me and he wasn't nearly as powerful as he usually is - i appreciate there had been injuries, but it showed too much. For a change i really liked the Italians and thought they deserved more marks. It was nice to see some understated costumes from them, and the only thing which put me off was Faella's mouth gaping open, like a tunnel, through most of the second half. Yes i know i'm being hyper critical don't even get me started on Kh/Nov. I think she is technically one of the best female dancers (and possibly the most fearless and flexible) the outfit was too scary! I thought the ice dance event was very exciting this year, how about everyone else?

For me, both russian pairs were overmarked. The most fair thing IMO would be: 1-F/S, 2-D/S, 3.P/B

Yes !. I think Jana Khoklova has turned into the Lady Gaga of ice dance !. I too loved the Italians. It was pure dancing. Dom/Shab have won this title coz of the compulsory dance. It really got on my nerves hearing three couples with the same music (in parts). It ruined my enjoyment of Pech/Bor, coz the music was the same. I'm not being biased coz I'm a fan of John & Sinead but there is no way the French were better than them in the free. The French had a couple of BIG errors.

I agree Maz.
The end of P/B's routine was a disaster! First he stopped in the middle of the twizzles, then he got stuck on that backflip thing and it looked terrible. The final lift thing was also really limp.
Can't believe they finished ahead of S&J.

the only reason i started to watch ice dancing is the kerrs, iv always cheered them on hoping they get the results they work hard for, but seeing what the 2 russians get and p/b
i think its very corrupt and a fix, wait until the french number 1's come back, it will be the same outrageous scores they always get. The judging system needs a complete overhaul! its too easy for the judges too control outright!

Maz you're a genius with that Lady Gaga comment! I too thought the end of the french routine was a mess, do you think it made a difference them being in the last group with John and Sinead in the previous group? I'm sure John and Sinead will be back stronger at Olys

I haven't seen any of the routines as I am in Thailand. However, I am sure that not skating in the final group will have harmed the Kerrs. It is usually impossible to get a medal if you are in any group other than the last.
