Videos from Japan are so fast. I was very curious to see. I know there will be many different opinions about it and it's good. Funny thing is that when Stephane skated first NMQP some poeple said it's very not like him and didn't like it. New style can be a challenge and this is in similar vain. Too many jumps or places for jumps but I know it was supposed to be a short program. I think it would be better left as exhibition and reworked a bit without 3 axels. Obviously it's work in progress, it's visible he learnt it yesterday, kind of slow and insecure with many musical nuances missing. I like Takahashi's skating but he doesn't have this gift of interpretation that can make such a program a living vision from the moment it starts, it would be unfair to expect him to be like Stephane. And he is not, in my opinion. But I'm sure it will improve a lot when he really starts to dance it, in time he will be able to make it something of his own. I wonder if we ever get to see the second program.

It’s been a while since I last wrote here. I’ve been very busy at work lately, but I always try to catch up with all the posts, and I want to thank everyone who kindly provides news, photos and videos. I’m constantly grateful to you all Thank you so much, Reut. I was so looking forward to see Daisuke’s exhibition. So, my thoughts about it: I actually think I may be a little too emotional in my reaction. I love Daisuke so much… if I’d love him just a tad more, I would love him as much as I love Stéphane (which I don’t, of course ). I’ve been so excited since I’ve heard that they were working together, and maybe it was inevitable, but the program moved me so much that I find it hard to explain. I’m not totally biased, it’s obvious that Daisuke need to work on it a lot more, but I have no doubt that he would improve it with practice (well, actually, I’m a bit scared just imagining how much beautiful it will become). He did some funny movements with his arms at the beginning, but even those I can’t help to find endearing. I guess I’m a bit hopeless. I can’t describe what I felt while watching it, mostly I’m just ridiculously proud of them both. The program caught me from the fist moves, and the ending spin almost bring me to tears. It was so different from Daisuke’s usual spins, it was so much better. So full of feeling. And the step sequence, well… I don’t think I have words for it. Okay, I better stop it here

Too many jumps or places for jumps but I know it was supposed to be a short program. It wasn't supposed to be a short program, if I understood it right. It was the "second" program they choreographed together. Me too, I wonder (and hope) if we'll see the second (which was choreographed first and supposed to be SP) program too.

elorie, I think I can understand what you're describing. Probably I felt the same. Extremely proud of both of them. Very touched deep inside by seeing their work together. It is very beautiful piece. And you can see how hard Dai worked, how much he learned during that week.
This collaboration is very special for me also because they were rivals not so long ago. And, to tell the truth, Daisuke was the only one I ever considered to be a "real" rival for Stephane: because he had both technical and artistic abilities. And this season Daisuke was the one who "took" a medal from Stephane, but he totally deserved that medal, I think. And it makes me feel happy and proud that they didn't put that rivalry between them and worked so great together.
And I was a bit sad too. Because, well, of course I see Stephane there and... I want Stephane to skate it. I'm afraid I will feel it even more with the competitive programs he'll choreograph.

Thank you reut ! Stéphane had 2 pieces for SP at first and Daisuke has chosen the other piece for SP. I don't know, if Stéphane already created the short program's concept with Amelie but it is also possible.

Stéphane had 2 pieces for SP at first and Daisuke has chosen the other piece for SP. I don't know, if Stéphane already created the short program's concept with Amelie but it is also possible. Probably he had some ideas for every piece of music he choose for Daisuke. But I think when they started to work on this program it was already meant to be exhibition and not SP. So it's not that more complicated jumps will be added there and they "left some time and place" for this when they created it. This is how I understood it at least.

I'm not sure about program, for me it looked more like exhibition but not completely finished with some bit empty places. But very interesting, I love programs that have ideas and interpretation not just repetition of moves like most competitive programs. Spins improved like everybody said, better positions and centering and it's just week of work. But still very slow with this music. I also find it special they can work like this. These guys really love skating for the sake of it, more than any medals, it's beautiful.

I posted this one in the Gala-thread, but I see here's were the evaluation of Amélie takes place.
I posted: It's beautiful music and I like the courage to be different and to really go into the mood of the music. I find the beginning and the ending very emotional. To me, he's not yet able to maintain that emotion throughout the whole program. Espacially not in between the jumps. There he loses the music. But hé, he's only skating this for one week. The potential is there, he dares to get into the emotion and that's how it starts!
Just my (first) thoughts.
Salut, Annelfie

It's interesting seeing how a skater who choreographes somebody for the first time has that strong signature over his "student"
I already love it, can't wait for watching this again after Daisuke has trained it

And not only HD quality, but also with an interview. I'm dying to now what the commentators say during the performance and what Daisuke says afterwards. Now I know how fortunate I am that when I follow Stéphane, I can understand it myself when he speaks french, german, english and a little italian I can manage too. Now I know how much people who don't speak the languages of their beloved skaters, need the others on this forum to help them out. I'm patiently waiting, knowing everybody has a life to live besides watching/sharing figure-skating. Salut, Annelfie
