My friend was present at fan meeting with Stephane few days ago and she kindly gave me her permission to share here Stephane's words about his new program to Violin Concerto in D major (Op. 35) by Tchaikovsky. Though we won't be able to see this program now (as there was no TV cameras on that day), it's still interesting to know about his inspiration for this program and the story behind it.
how this program was created Stephane said that he saw the French film "Le Concert" and was inspired by violin concert from there, he felt very strong connection to this music and asked Salome to help him with choreography for the new program. They started working last fall and made only skeleton. A year later Stephane was back to this program and asked Salome to work with him again on details, because he really wanted to show this program in Japan.
story behind It's a story of the man who came to see some performance in theatre and when the show was finished he forgot something in auditorium, his hat or umbrella. So he goes back to the theatre to take it and when he enters and sees the scene, he recalls what he saw that evening, how he felt when he saw it, he feels what the main characters of the play felt.
costume The costume is very simple: burgundy trousers and shirt. This colour represents a celebration, or when you go to theatre or opera. It reminds of good red wine and something festive.

Thank you, reut! I couldn't take part in the fan events, so I know the story just now even though I actually saw his new program. The tour organizer put some reports on his/her blog. ameblo.jp/torgappa/entry-11011831667.htmlameblo.jp/torgappa/entry-11011912425.htmlClick the photos and you can see bigger ones. and Akiko Suzuki put some off-ice shots on her blog. You can see Stephane in the photo. ameblo.jp/suzuki-akko/image-11007809162-11462552258.htmlSorry, I don't have enough time to translate these texts and write my report of Fantasy on Ice in Niigata. I just want to say... as you can image... Stephane's Tchaikovski was very wonderful! Stephane's skating seemed to cuddle up to the sound of violin. This program is still like a newborn baby so it'll be more and more wonderful !

A lovely person on my facebook posted a translation of the Fan Tour Report. I don't have a source and I don't know Japanese so I cannot say 100% that this is correct. I hope it is OK to post.
Fan Tour Report
First thing first, we escorted Stephane onto the bus, and we are off to visit "Asakusa" district (Asakusa = a traditional district of eastern Tokyo, which has a very particular atmosphere) As soon as we arrived and Stephane gets out the bus, everyone rushes to surround him closely, and the mob scene follows every move he makes... it must have been a rather curious sight from the point of view of the bystanders... Stephane spots the "Sky Tree" in the distance, he gets excited about it all by himself, starts taking soime pictures. (Sky Tree = a famous landmark, a tall tour of 600+ metres) We head off to a shrine. The Guide tells us the smoke from the incence of this shrine has a healing power, and if you expose a certain part of yourself, you will see an improvement. Steph sticks his head towards the smoke, and asks "would my brain be cured?" Everyone bursts in to laughing. Stephane also drew a fortune telling card (in shrines you can pick a little sheet which is suppose to tell you of your fortunes) Now we have to move to the next destination. This time Stephane accompanies us in the same bus, so the excitement storms around in its full force even during the travel. The next stop is a traditional tea ceremony by the zen-type garden. Stephane looking a little different from his usual self, seems a little nervous with the photo-shooting rampage of the fans. We had our tea, Stephane attentively listens to the explanation by the guide. As we all know, he is very interested in Japanes culture. The last but not the least, we have a chatting session with Stephane. Exchanges of Q & A plus special photo shoot, and a hug session
By the way, what was his fortune telling sheet saying? His future is all good, it seems. It went by all too quickly, but it was such an intimate and unforgettable experience for all of us!
