I can't imagine that and it makes me a bit worried . Is this some kind of mix of different pieces or what? I hate remixes and anything from Lady G is dreadful to my ears but it's Stephane so it can't be really bad when he does it. ;D And "summertime" that he was planning to skate some time ago but never did. Nina Simone's interpretation is so beautiful, intimate and dramatic and suits Stephane so well. Something that sophisticated plus meh flat pop song is well, weird. I have a feeling it will be a blast, something crazy, either very bad or very good , can't wait to see. I will be just happy to see Stephane on the ice again skating, whatever it is.

Really WOW! Seems a bit like Stephane wanted to skate to all of those songs, and just couldn't choose, so decided to put them all in one program . Maybe it's not even some complicated concept, but really something with an emphases on changes of the general mood and rhythm. Actually, if we listen to the words of all three songs carefully, it shouldn't be that difficult to reflect the mood changes and even the meaning of each song in the program if they are put in the right order. The most tricky part is how to make the change from one song to the other as seameless as possible.

A remix is by someone, but no any DJ or such is mentioned in the music list. As for Lady Gaga, I personally like only a few acoustic versions of her songs. But, imho, she has better songs than 'Alejandro' even in their normal form, although I can't say that I really like them. 'Alejandro' seems quite inexpressive to me - not even that catchy. I somehow doubt that a Stephane program could be very bad, or bad at all . As for blast and crazy, I think we shouldn't raise our expectations too high. After all, Stephane didn't have all that much time for this program + despite being a crazy mix, it's still mostly jazz style, which could mean that the program is a bit similar to 'Tainted Love' and 'LTGTR' - at least in parts. And 'Alejandro' seems like something that could be done for 'Art on Ice' (not exactly Lady Gaga, of course, but in similar style). But, of course, I can't know that - probably it will be something new and crazy indeed. We shall see .

So, finally, Tchaikovsky And a new, light program Nina Simone's version of 'Summertime' actually sounds a bit sad, although the words are not sad. And Lady Gaga's 'Alejandro' is not that light either - it's not some kind of happy love song. The only light song here is 'Puttin on The Ritz', but even that has a bit of an ironic meaning. And it also has words like "Now if you're blue, and you don't know where to go to, why don't you go where fashion sits?". It's all about being a bit sad and lost, and trying to lighten your mood by mixing with the rich ones and trying to pretend that you're one of them ("Come, let's mix, where Rockfellers walk with sticks and umbrellas in their mitts, Puttin' on the ritz"). So, I don't know about the "light program". It can be absolutely light only if it's made without any real connection to the meaning of the songs. But, as I wrote, Simone's version of 'Summertime' and Gaga's 'Alejandro' don't even sound that joyful - I think it would be quite difficult to ignore that. I too count the days .

and me too and I'm also looking forward to see the new costumes and what parts from the violin concerto he will skate (the Tchaikovsky concert is very long and I have my favourite moments.. sometimes I already imagine Stéphane dancing on it when I listen to my ipod ;D)

I think you are right, Lauravvv. I read the lyrics of the three songs; at least in "summertime" and "Alejandro" I feel some melancholia, also in the interpretation. The "Ritz-one" seems to be lighter, fashion-theme. It would indeed be surprsing if Stéphane's interpretation didn't make a connection with the lyrics of the songs. He sometimes said that the pieces he chooses had, somehow to do with his life, at least at the momentum. So I expect a performence with different moods ... and interesting costumewise. Jazzy again? Well, no speculation anymore from my side. Soon we will see GOOD LUCK, STEPHANE!!

Just need to add: Sometimes I almost feel kind of guilty having always high expectations in Stephane's choreopgraphies and performances. He just must have the right to .... well ... sometimes be a bit less inspired as usually, maybe. It does not happen often though and hopefully neither this time.
I just felt like saying this, somehow to myself, kind of apologize from my side.

He just must have the right to .... well ... sometimes be a bit less inspired as usually, maybe. He surely does have the right I had the same feelings for quite a while. But then I was really disappointed with one of his programs. It was "Last Dance"; and I loved the way Stephane moved, all the same, but the program itself was nothing special, in my opinion. So I realized, for me it is better not to have high expectations. It's impossible to produce a masterpiece every time... Though I always hope for it, I do not expect it, if you understand what I mean

I just felt like saying this, somehow to myself, kind of apologize from my side. I understand you absolutely. I too have had this feeling. And those expectations tend to become higher with time, as Stephane makes new and new interesting and wonderful programs, although it probably shouldn't be so. He surely does have the right I had the same feelings for quite a while. But then I was really disappointed with one of his programs. It's impossible to produce a masterpiece every time... Though I always hope for it, I do not expect it, if you understand what I mean I try to do the same now. As for programs like 'Last Dance', it is to be expected now when Stephane has to make two programs for 'Art on Ice'. I don't even count those programs as "real" programs (I don't mean 'My Body Is a Cage' or 'BMTL', but really programs like 'Last Dance' and 'Something Got Me Started').

lavrujjka and lauravvv
Thank you for your coments. It is exactly the same for me (concerning especially "Last Dance" and "Something got me started") and I am glad not to be alone with this feeling.
Nevertheless I think that Stephane prepares differently (and had more time to prepare) for "all that Skate" than for AOI with livemusic where he can rehearse with the singers only maybe two days before the first show. They seem to be created only for AOI and he keeps them only if he gets a special feel for them (like MBIAC, for example). While for "All that skate" and the other shows he uses programs which are ment to become part of his repertory for a certain time. Opera on ice again is different: This surely is a special challenge in a very special scenery with classical orchestra and arias. Even though the performances are probabely ment to be only for the ocasion it is - as Carolina said - a kind of special obligation. (But this belongs to another thread).
Soon we will see!
