In this article, Paolo Bacchini who trains with Stephane talks about him a little bit: www.artonice.it/?q=it%2Fnode%2F12045:"I modelli di Paolo Bacchini, nel passato e nel presente. A chi ti ispiri? What role models of the past and the present inspire you? "I was asked this question many times and I would say that while staying in Geneva I was lucky to be able to train in the same sessions with Stephane Lambiel and I could appreciate the greates talent so it was normal that with time he has become my point of reference as a role model. He was in the past and continues to be because of his technical and artistic quality. When I watch the world stage of figure skating it's hard for me to find as unique skater as Stephane."

the pictures from SOS Children's Villages are so nice and so cute to see! kadri, I wanted to write the same words here Maybe he will visit them this year again. He would have more time to adapt on time change after long period in Schwitzerland without flying.. I think he is cuter with children than alone

Thank you for the nice pictures, Anna and pia and "elle-velle". I like to see Stephane together with Mr Grütter and how he emotionally cheers for? (I think it is during Voloshozar/Trankov FS?).

He could also cheer for Carolina.. He and Mr. Grütter look a little bit like father and son, we can find their photos together almost at every skating event where both of them are. Their relationship must be still alive and kind.. Only Salome is missing...

Mr. Grütter mentioned visiting Stéphane in hospital. "Back then when I saw how he spinned for hours I often thought about slowing him down. Lambiel is undergoing treatment of one eye, the problem could be a long-term consequence of his spinning". i.imgur.com/FtveO.jpgSource: Sonntagszeitung Olympic Magazine 22/07/2012 The article was a general comparison of training methods of men and women and not specially about figure skating.

Yes, aleachim: for Carolina he could have cheered the same way . He always said, that she had "the most beautiful lines", even in times when things went not too well for her. And thank you, stephanie2006. His facial expression on this picture really says everything . The article still makes me worry a little. Mr Grütter maybe could not have managed to slow him down at that time. If Stephane wanted something, he wanted it - as Mr Grütter said in several interviews and as Stephane himself confirmed sometimes - there was nothing to do. But I think (hope) that Stephane now is very aware of how important his health is and takes more care. But does it mean, that he is not alowed to do the same spins again? We will see.

Thank you Reut, it is nice to see the "olympic" pictures again, and some new ones.
I agree, Stephane really does a lot for us to enjoy and I think, he likes himself to spin. But, if he really has to be careful doing them, I hope he respects this need for the sake of his health. And - it was mentioned a wile ago here - it would even be interesting to see a program without spins. (Of course, I hope that if he dicided to create such a program, it would come from his free wish and not because health obliges him to.)

Thank you for the pictures, reut! It must have been an amazing experience .. and Stéphane looked very happy to be there as a role model what a great example he is for those young boys and girls I don't know if his eyes suffered because of the spins, but I have to say that I thought it, too .. I mean, maybe (I hope) they're not the main cause, but spinning so fast can be not safe if you're not completely healthy.. I hope he is now. But I'm sure that his skating would be the greatest in the world even without spins, or without so-fast-spins. He has a lot to say and to show, sometimes I think he could express music even without any of the elements (as spins and jumps).. and I really hope that he doesn't push himself just because so many people expects him to wow-spin.. I read that article about "doing a program without spins" and I find it very interesting!
