You can see this moment in "motion" here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTMuJtoeqKM#t=488 As for the show being nice, from the feedback I read it was indeed on a very high level (higher than usual for Avebukh), but there were a few less nice things. After his program Stephane said a few words (something like "thanks etc") which was translated by the host: "He said everything was OK and asked where he can gather his money". Bold and stupid joke which (hopefully) Stephane didn't understand and (hopefully) most of the audience knew that Stephane didn't actually say that. Also Stephane skated after Julia Lipnitskaya in the first part and before her in the second one. Julia is the main STAR in Russia now, people go crazy about her, many came for her. So skating after her means that all the emotions were spent on her and you get less attention. While in the second part, Stephane skated his "Ne me quitte pas", finished it with going to the darkness. And then he just didn't go to the ice for the bows, at all, and Julia came. So he kind of didn't get applause at all. I don't think people overall cared, but Stephane's fans were upset about all this. Thanks reut for put file in order, and thank you for write that you don't say,I don't know. I do understand too much, because I encounter a similar situation...so,maybe something like that, happend everywhere... like you said most peoples maybe don't care about, just we care, but there was nothing we could do.The feeling is very bad...

Hi Hill, I wouldn't say that for Russian fans the feeling was very bad, but there were indeed less nice moments, to which they are naturally more sensitive.

Thanks a lot, reut, for the very nice and interesting interview and translation!! (The writer seems to know Stephane really well and to also be a huge admirerer of his art ). So we might soon see a new and "different from what the audience is used too see from me" program. I am very curious. And I'm also looking very forward to see the 'Paso doble' from Zhiganshina/Gaszi the coming season. Stephane is incredibly busy. I thought that he might be 'lost somewhere' this spring after Evgeni Plushenkos shows have been cancelled, but no, he seems to be even more active than ever.
Oh, and just some days ago I detected Anna's article about Art on Ice: www.absoluteskating.com/index.php?cat=articles&id=2014artoniceThank you a lot, anna!! Stephane's "The Water" became one of my favorite programs of his (there are quite many meanwhile ) and it's especially interesting for me to read his reflections about it.

What a wonderful flurry of interviews and news. Thank you, reut and anna. By the way, has anyone purchased the DVD yet of Carina Freire's film about Stephane? Is it still only available to order in bulk for fan clubs?

Thanks jomeku and to Ia for recording the press conference! he indeed said very interesting things about The Water - especially about the movement "strained to the limit", as if it's always going to fall... I think that knowing these details makes you appreciate the programs even more ( if possible ). Thanks reut for the link to the translation, I can't wait to see Nelli and Alex short dance! I so much wanted to see him working with ice dance... finally

dorothy: As I had the same question I tried to find out at "Thera-productions" by phone and e-mail, but did not reach them resp. did not get an answer yet. If I hear something, I will let you know.
Anna: Oh yes, I love to watch his programs knowing this kind of details, it adds so much in my perception. Also with Grieg when he - among other things - talks about a 'Meditation in the forest', (or also when searching for the 'special figures' he mentions in his St. Petersburg fan meeting). It's like a puzzle becoming more and more complete.

Thank you, reut ! I started to imagine Stephane skating a program in the dark, painting fluorescent figures on the ice with his blades, nothing else to see … and in the end eventually a beautiful flower of light (or so)...

Concerning Carina Freire's documentary "Le petit prince qui défile":
I just got a mail from 'thera-productions' Julien Rouyet. He writes that inside Switzerland, they send the DVD with a bill over 20 CHF per piece, postal charges included. Outside Switzerland they ask for preliminary payment, shipping expenses in addition. The DVD will be sent after reception of the bank transfer. If there's big request, they recommend bulk delivery. So, as I understand, there's no problem to have single orders. I ordered one already and should receive it within the next few days. I will tell a bit about it if there's interest.
