reut, is there a specific reason you don't like the voice of the "virtual" coach? I think this strict, harsh voice is a perfect example of the use of violence to mobilize, to push the students to work harder and harder in order to achieve goals. Just my thoughts I think it was just so not Mr.Grütter, not in the voice and not in the specific choice of words and way of "coaching", that it just sounded too "fake" to me. Oh, I see. To tell the truth I've never, for a moment, thought that it was supposed to be the voice of Mr. Grütter. The collaboration between Him, Salome and Stéphane was quite unusual in the world of competitive sport. There is often no place for nice feelings and sweet words. I think that they wanted to show how an average relation between a coach and an athlete looks like and that's why this voice has been intentionally exaggerated. OMG I'm not able to precisely express myself in English so, I do hope you understand what I meant to say

For those of us who don't speak French what was the " coach" saying in that scene? I would love to know too The only what I was able to understand was a comment "Ok. Continue" after the fall.

For those of us who don't speak French what was the " coach" saying in that scene? The voice says, after Stephane's fall: Come on Stephane, we'll try again …. Ok, we continue! And repeats saying: Better than this! You can do better. You … can … do … better … etc. It's actually not the words that are too hard … but imagine you're exhausted and cannot anymore … and you continue to hear those words all the time . I guess that's what happens to all ambitious athletes from time to time, or very often even.

I'm not sure Peter always had only "nice words" for Stephane, by the way. It's just, the voice, the words and the situation looked "fake" to me, that's it. But you heard that Thomas Bach actually loved that moment and it reminded him of his coach and his training.

Girls, I used to be an athlete and can assure you that such words have nothing to do with criticism They just serve as a way of mobilizing, encouraging when an athlete is tired and discouraged.

Glad you liked them, jomeku. Will try to add some "stories" later. It was so nice to work on those photos now and to recall those days... P.S. 76 views and the link was only here... Hm... Probably this forum is not "dead" just yet.

Great photos, reut! It's wonderful that you decided to visit Lausanne back then Thank you very much! In some photos, he stands in a position that even if you cover his head everyone would recognize him anyway. Kind of a signature pose (7639 and 7666). I love it As everybody else, I'm so looking forward to read your stories May I share a link to your pictures on FB?

Yes, of course, Gaja. Don't expect STORIES. He was working hard, repeating again and again, and I was watching.
