I must confess... I also was in Warsaw! It was very spontaneous and very short trip. Unfortunately because of the huge difference in temperatures (it was around 20 in Israel recently) I caught a cold at the rink and am still feeling awful. This morning I couldn't imagine how I will manage to get back home. Tomorrow I also have a full workday... So when I survive all that and get to my normal self I will share some impressions and photos (although the light was bad, so almost no good photos...) And also we did a nice short interview with Stephane for the "Ice Legends" promo article I plan to write soon.

I'm sorry for your cold, hope you get well soon and won't have lasting effects. The weather was hard on us this year, well below zero and gusty winds. It is very unpredictable, it might be minus 20 or plus 10 as well at this time of the year. I don't know if much can be done about it in this arena, although they might think about something like more places to warm during the break. It can be challenge for many people, especially older who are often interested in such show. There are other aremas in the city but the show is connected with the entire winter season so they wouldn't probably want to have it elsewhere. We will see if they continue next year or not.

And it's special to see "Take me to church" with Stéphane skating in "Nobody's perfect" costume. It fits and I really like the lightening for the program. Hopefully we will see a video from closer. I'm looking forward to read the impressions Believe me, jomeku that the lightening was terrible when you watched the show live. It was one of the reason I said that the show was awful. I feel terrible today and can't collect my thoughts but I will share my impressions with you soon. reut, too bad you didn't tell that you are in Warsaw - I would be really happy to meet you

reut, too bad you didn't tell that you are in Warsaw - I would be really happy to meet you Sorry! But this time was really short, I was only at the rink. After the show I was already feeling not well (and then at night it was worse) and then today I left... Maybe next time I will stay for longer. I didn't see Warsaw at all, only from the cab.

Reut, I'm sorry you feel bad, but hope you had a good trip back home and feel better soon! And of course I'm looking forward to your short interview. Elanor and Gaja, thank you for the new videos from 'Take me to Church'. I really love this program! It's so intense, crazy steps. Wonderful Stéphane ! And I like the blue lightening in Warsaw, even though it was too dark, as you say. I admit, I had to get used to this version, (already when watching videos from 'Music on ice'). The original version from Verona remains very special for me, maybe because it was the premiere of this breathtaking program, I saw it live, the scenery in the Arena was extraordinary and I liked the instrumental version from 'Intimissimi'. But I watched the videos from Warsaw many times, and I really love this program and performance (almost) equally by now. ... Thank you Reut for the nice photo of Stéphane with Brian!

The article from the first link is here: www.zimowynarodowy.pl/mp-4987-czolowka-swiatowego-lyzwiarstwa-na-final-zimowego-narodowegoStephane: "I'm very glad to be in Poland again. I believe all skaters are delighted to be able to participate in Kings on Ice again. This edition Tribute to Chopin is special to me because I love Chopin, his music that is so uniquely romantic. I think it's great for figure skating, it allows expressing the way I like the most".

Thank you, taipeifollowers! I'm still not well, unfortunately, and now suddenly woke up and can't sleep at 4 in the morning (luckily I won't go to work tomorrow, so I can sleep later). So, if I anyway don't sleep I have plenty of time to write some impressions. But first some links, I think I didn't see them here: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL074as4Sz_DocvqpNweG1tUsLbB0ORArZ - playlist with a lot of videos from the show www.facebook.com/zimowy.narodowy/videos/997874970250055/ - promo and times of the broadcast More photos: www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153813429770310.1073741876.369650790309&type=3www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153811144110310.1073741875.369650790309&type=3I will write first about the show and others, and separately about Stéphane. First of all the venue. It is HUGE. The stadium is very impressive, brand new and looks great. Loved it on the photos, and it is really amazing inside, kind of awes you. But for many reasons this is not a good place to have an ice show in it... First of all it was cold. VERY cold. I couldn't stay there during the whole show, I was freezing, luckily I could go inside and have some hot tea (oh my the amount of tea I drank that Saturday! ), but the audience couldn't! I saw people leaving... Some of them came back with hot drinks they bought outside, but some - with smaller children - didn't And the second reason, you need the energy, the atmosphere to "fill in" the whole space, this is what makes the experience magical. It is impossible to fill in something so huge with something which is not a football game, with relatively chamber ice show. I felt as if this energy the artists were bringing was going up and out through the wholes in the roof or behind our backs to the rest of the stadium... (I didn't know how huge this staidum is and that actually they "cut" a small bit of this huge arena for the ice, put there another tribune and use just a few tribunes of the stadium, so when you sit on that small tribune you have the whole huge stadium behind you, a lot of empty space). The cast. Last time I saw "Kings on Ice" was in Prague, in December 2012. That was, I think, a very successful tour and compared to that one the cast this time was less impressive. And those who are impressive in it, like Tomas, Brian, had only one program! Luckily Stéph had two. The cast was mostly local skaters and Ari's team who is partially working in Peter Tchenyshev's various ice shows in Moscow and partially skates in group numbers in Japan (I think in "Fantasy on Ice", for example). This team is nice actually, and Nikita Mikhailov (who does choreo for most of their numbers, if I got it right from what I saw during the rehearsals) is a very serious and talented young man. But still, as skaters they are on a different level. So, although both "newly created" pairs - Yovanovich/Maisuradze and Martyusheva/Gavrin - had quite decent numbers, I don't get why they had two and Brian, Tomas, Elladj had one. As a side note I always liked Nastia Martyusheva and was sorry for her during the competitions (she was usually struggling with landing jumps and throws and made her partner, Rogonov, quite frustrated at times), I'm glad that she found decent job and continues to skate. In general I think it is a very good idea to invite local skaters. People should know who their skaters are, should feel proud. But, of course, it lowers the overall level of the show even more... Synchro girls were cute, but rather weak. Still worked hard, rehearsed very seriously on the floor and on the ice, and I guess had a lot of fun to take part in such an important production. I was not impressed by Schauman/Różycki and by Anna Rechnio. But Stéphane was actually really excited about the latter, said she was one of those he loved to watch back then when she competed. There were also Mariusz Siudek's students, I partly missed their performances because I was thawing inside. But it was nice for me to see Mariusz and Dorota backstage, just because my friend really loved them and their last competitive season was my first one I started to follow skating a bit, and my friend talked about them a lot. They also have a lovely boy (who was bored to death towards the end of the show, luckily we have tablets nowadays ). ...I feel I need some sleep after all, I'll continue later...
