Thank you, jomeku, for all the videos! Great to see Stephane back on the ice. And glad for you that you could go to Champery and see the show. "Son of God" is lovely but a bit "generic" to me. Especially when you compare it to "Take me to church", for example. I'm not familiar with this song, but is this some kind of Christmas hymn? Because I wonder if it was created especially for this time of the year, just like he had "Let it Snow" before that. P.S. Some off ice photos from "Hit on Ice" m.weibo.cn/detail/4322806516541627

Days before I was told that it was early enough to buy a ticket in the afternoon before the event. Luckily I made a reservation anyway ... as the the show in the end was sold out, I read. Glad for them ... and for me ! Personally I love the "Son of God" program. Yes, I think I know what you mean when seeing a bit "generic" (Stéphane style program). Still I loved the speed, Stéphane just flying over the ice. I watched the video of this performance in Courmayeur twenty times already, amazed . (I'm also amazed and happy to see in what a good shape Stéphane is! I mean, since XOI in mid-December he was in Vancouver and Japan coaching Koshiro, and I don't think he had much time to practice during this period. Still, he's in very good shape

When I say "generic" I don't mean not beautiful. After all I always enjoyed even just watching his warm ups. By "generic" I mean that without a costume and a music I wouldn't recognize it, with most of his programs I think I will (including, for example, "Let it snow" I mentioned). But there is a group of "one time" programs he created for some shows for specific musician, for example, or for a few performances only where there is just his beautiful skating but nothing "characteristic" or different. "Son of God" is one of those for me.
He had his skates with him during Vancouver-Japan trip (for XOI), so maybe he could find time to practice. I remember when he was an Athlete Role Model in Innsbruck he had his skates with him and practiced at the rink where figure skating competition was held very early in the morning. At least I was told so.
Me too, I was surprised by the revival of "Take me to church". Maybe indeed it is for MOI although he already skated it there (in a different costume).

I actually never saw Tchaikovsky as "generic".
