Hi all, Important information: Stéphane agreed to have a fan meeting here in Minsk. Because there are fans who also would like to go to a fan meeting with Deniss which will be held on Sunday, Stéphane agreed to meet on Saturday, after Deniss' morning practice. We still don't know the time as it depends on his result after SP and the draw. I need to know how many people from here would want to come because we need to understand if the lobby of the skaters' hotel "Victoria Olimp Hotel" (Prospekt Pobediteley 103, this is the place we currently agreed about) is OK or we are too many and we need to rent a conference room.
It is quite hectic here (like always at the competitions), so, please, leave your comments here, I won't be able to answer any messages. Of course, I will post similar post on lambiel_ru too. Ideally it should be the same format as we usually had in Verona (except they don't have beautiful Arena here ), it will be in English and think about questions.
If someone is able to take a video of the whole meeting, it will be hugely appreciated.
P.S. We will need to decide about the place on Friday, so, please, answer as soon as possible. Thanks!
Hi, tarorez, welcome to the forum (and thank you for your photos from Minsk ). Yes, of course, you're welcome to join.
The meeting will be at 10:30, on Saturday, in Slavyanskaya Hotel, conference room on the first floor (ground floor I guess, I will check) to the right from the entrance. Room costs 40 Belarussian rubles for all of us for one hour, there will be a person who will collect money.
Stéphane asked for the meeting to be half an hour, questions only, all gifts should be gathered to one bag before the meeting and he will take it with him after the meeting (in general he asks not to bring gifts at all, but usually it doesn't work even if we ask ), there will be one group photo in the end of the meeting.
Volunteers are needed: - to arrange the room for the meeting - to arrange gifts in the bag - to take the video of the whole meeting
tarorez, yes, of course, she can come too. I didn't see the room, so I don't know, but we have someone who promised to take a video. If you find a place for your camera, you're still welcome to take a video too. It's always better to have a few versions, especially because sometimes the quality is different and the time when people can upload video is different too.
Thank you very much for the meeting and for the video !! Stéphane obviously was in a very relaxed mood. Lovely . I've some difficulties to understand everything, but I'm going to listen to it very carefully and with pleasure!
Hi all Thank you reut for taking the appointment. Thank you to persons those have organized. Here my sound recording. You can listen very good what Stéphane said but not good questions were, so our files complement each other. I took video too with a iPad but my iPad went down 2 times during the meeting, so second short times I miss picture although I try make a video from them because I was front of him (thank you very much that I could take a place front of him
Thank you for setting up this meeting, reut! I appreciate taipeifollowers posting the video and pianomaya posting the audio (like jomeku, I had some trouble hearing Stephane on the video). He seemed to be relaxed and in a good mood. It was interesting to hear his concept of coaching in such detail. I got a bit of a chill when he was talking about his program at AoI looking back on the last 17 years - he may be ready for retrospectives but I'm so hoping for another 17 years of Stephane headlining Art on Ice! Thanks to everyone for a very nice meeting and especially to Stephane for giving his time so generously to us fans. Hope he got his eagerly awaited shower and masque, and maybe a bit of rest, too!!
I was looking for that one too! I think it was on one of the Instagram stories, but those "die" after 24 hours... The story with the phone was funny as he actually left the room and I said good bye to him outside and entered the room when girls noticed that he forgot his phone on the table. For a moment we hesitated what to do and saw him entering back the room, he already noticed it himself. And then he told that all his life is there, including the credit card and the card which opens the rink in Champery, and it will be a disaster to lose it.
And to your question - yes, I really enjoyed this meeting. I had some concerns, because it was after an early morning practice, which also didn't go that well, but he was in a great mood, very lovely, smiley and ready to share. He also came in time (even a minute or two earlier), which is really remarkable and took that reason to be stressed off my shoulders. I also was worried that people won't ask questions, but there were people who came really prepared, especially two girls who asked many great questions.
There was no much stress for me of organizing things because I didn't organize them. I was way too busy at the championships to do anything, so from the very beginning I clarified that I will do nothing, no volunteers to organize - no meeting, it's that simple. Fans got used to the fact that they get everything ready, that the only thing they need to do is to write a comment "I will come" (or, in many cases, "Me and 5 more people will come", so most of those coming don't do even that small thing as writing that sentence, not talking about the fact that most of them never write any comment again, not even "thank you"). I think it's about time they do a little bit more. But also, I just really couldn't, physically, organize that, I was too busy and also it was Shabbat, so I couldn't use any electronic equipment. Me personally I would've preferred to have it on Sunday, but that was the only option we found with Stephane which was OK for him and for all the fans who wanted to visit both meetings. Looking back now, when I know that they urgently needed to reschedule Deniss' fan meeting, I'm glad even more that we didn't set it for Sunday and/or during the time of Deniss' meeting.
