yeah sorry, my banners always take a lot of space
It's part of my job to Czechify the icerink... and to be a squealy fangirl when Tomas skates ;D I make a complete fool of myself but somehow I always get rewarded so I continue. Don't really care what anyone else thinks about it.
ok so saturday:pre- competion:
* was still indecisive the previous night if I'd try and get in practice. Woke up on saturdaymorning feeling lazy. Figured I wouldn't get into practice anyway, because already sekurity hated me.
* took a speed-trip to the Notre dame. Walked around it and went back. Forgot my tickets in the hostel, how stupid can I be! you paid so much money for it, damnit! Was in total panick as the hostel had a lock-out from 11 to 4 and it was 10.50. Called the hostel and they said it was fine to pick them up at 12.30 and I did. phew!
* Came to the arena, wasn't even so nervous. Which always worries me because Tomas does better when I am nervous LOL! Some banners had been moved or simply dissapeared. Shock gasp! Went to sekurity guy but he didn't understand me. Had maxim and albena looking at me strangely as I was trying to make something clear to the sekurity guy. "no I do not want to pass! I want my banners!" *drama*
Finally found a friend of mine to translate to French. Retrieved banners and put them somewhere else. Even one that wasn't mine, but it was one for Tomas, so I couldn't just leave it there.
* hung the banner not from me for Tomas, and John Kerr passed by. he looked at me, I said good luck, he said "TOMASSS!!!" , I smiled.
Long programs:
Mens:
* ODA! was FANTASTIK! he was really on, and I really enjoyed his Chaplin program. Such a contrast to the previous day whee!! his adorable side really comes out with this program. Beautiful jumps too.
* Tomas... reasonable, enjoyable. I know he can do much better, but he doubled only 2 jumps. He skated better than at worlds actually haha, so I hope that bodes well for the rest of the season. OTOH anything can happen. Don't let your head get in the way sunshine! your legs know how to skate, so let them do their job. I wil always believe though. kissesss
* Adam... he too was better yesterday but it was still enjoyable. Loved the smoothness of his skating again and his smile and curls are to die for...really... uhm OK I'd talk about skating I know
* Brian, well, lots of shitty small mistakes again, le sigh. I actually cheered when he finally landed a jump and it was only a triple. It's very unusual for me so I must have felt really sorry. Bah on the music, can't resist to do some yagudin moves when I see it.
Pairs:
* actually we wanted to go outside and see if we could congratulate Tomas but we found out that once you go outside you cannot go back in. We didn't really feel like watching the first few pairs but did want to see last group. Looked for a sekret exit but couldn't find one. Stuck in the icerink we were.
* don't really have so much to say about Pairs anyway again. I find pairs so uninspiring sometimes. I mean the lifts and so are very difficult and it takes some guts to do pairs but hm. The music is usually kind of blah and muzak and really I can't be arsed to be interested most of the time bah.
M/T were nice and clean though...uhm...yeah... S/S was the biggest wtf ever. Worst program I've seen live since Tomas Worlds 2008. Luckily I wasn't that upset. They were lucky to win a bronze because in the end, really they didn't do ANYTHING!
* between competitions we strolled around the novotel, but didn't really find the right person
Finally we left, and looked for some affordable food. We didn't really find it, and when we did we missed half of ladies already.
Ladies;
* wanted to sit with Laura to cheer with Italian flag for Caro. Had lots of fights with many sekurities, because she was on the other side of the icerink and you couldn't reach it from the inside. Finally we somehow managed to get in right before Carolina.
* Carolina wasn't really good again. sigh, poor girl. I hope it's just a thing of beginning of the season.
* Anyway in general I think the level for this first GP of the season was really good. I mean, usually it's just a splat fast extraordinaire, but it was kind of reasonable here.
* Maooooo did triple axels she's so cool! I love her for it!!
* Yu-na, drooled on her triples agian, but prefer her SP actually. It has more power than her LP.
Dance:
* probably enjoyed samuelson/bates most this evening. They just skated very beautiful. I was just in awe throughout the whole perfomance. They might not have the same difficulty but they defenitely captured me here.
* loved the Kerrs FD also. Such an awesome choice of music, great lifts and ideas as usual !! absolutely loved it. I also really like that they always first bow to the audience and then to the judges
* P/B, well I want to like them...or I mean I like their skating, but hmmmm using requim for a dream...why? This music has like gone out on the streets to become a prostitute! So many skaters have fukced it now *sigh*. And still every time I see it, I get distracted because I see another skater skating to it. It kind of takes away from my involvement in the program....
* V/M well no doubt it's a beautiful program but I dunno.... I didn't do THAT much for me. they have awesome skating and awesome lifts and their skating is very intense. I just wish they had other music, because I keep waiting for some highlight but it never comes...
to be continued...
