I just saw that there's a little section on Stéphane on the website of the "Club des patineurs de Lausanne-Malley" (where he now trains, though he's still a member of the "Club des patineurs de Genève"). There're a couple of pics of him with Cédric (the 2nd one's cool!) and I thought some of you might be interested. www.cpl-m.ch/lambiel.htm

ok, so just for Mel... ----------------------------------- Stéphane Lambiel skates in Lausanne The committee of the CPLM is very happy and wishes him full success for this season. As you've maybe read in the sport press lately, or more simply just deduced from seeing him on the ice of our rinks, Stéphane Lambiel now trains in Lausanne. This season's a season of big changes for Stéphane. After getting his "maturity", Stéphane decided to move to Lausanne to start his business studies at the university. Injured on the left knee over the summer, Stéphane underwent surgery and he's now getting back in shape. In the meantime, he decided to switch coaches and is now coached by Cédric Monod, member of the committee of the CPLM and former skater for the club. If everything goes as planned, Stéphane will be fit again for the Swiss Championships that will take place in Malley at the beginning of January... Stéphane, how were you welcomed at the CPLM? - Very well. The first time I came to the rink, members of the committee warmly greeted me. I felt good here at once. Are you satisfied with the training conditions? - Yes, they're good. During the hours reserved for the skaters of the club, there aren't many people on the ice and everything goes well. I don't do too many jumps anyway, because I have to go smoothly with my knee. I also skate twice a week at Monchoisi over lunch time and it's unbelievable, there's hardly anyone on the ice, and when the sun's shining, it's just perfect. Tanning while skating, it's the top of the top, isn't it? Anything to add? - Yes, I'd like to thank the committee and Mr Gueissaz of the CIGM ("Malley Ice Center") for finding me 2 extra hours so that I can train seriously. I realize that everybody here tries to support me the best they can and I'm very glad about that.

How do you pronounce Monod? Is it a silent D?

I was there today, unfortunately it was sooooooo grey and cloudy... I did try to take a couple of pics of Stéphane and Salomé working, but I doubt they turned out well or that you can see much of the rink, I'll check that later. yup, it's a silent D.
