I went to Lausanne yesterday to see Stéphane practice and we'll put some news on the site at the end of the week, but here are some extra "details" that won't be included there.
As you know I hadn't seen him practice in "normal conditions" since, well, last season (cause Frankfurt wasn't really "normal"). I have to say that I was quite impressed yesterday...
First, his life in general seems so much better organized now, and that's thanks to Cédric. He takes care of so many things and is doing a wonderful job taking all the extra pressure and worries off Stéphane's shoulders.
This means that Stéphane can totally focus on getting back in shape and skating, and yesterday he sure had a lot of energy! He skated twice for about 1 hour 15, and it actually wasn't totally "normal" practices, because he only worked with Salomé (on choreographies).
So I did (finally) see Stéphane's LP, and though it wasn't a "love at first sight", I'm sure it's one of those programs that will grow on me. He skated the program fully once, he still has to improve his condition, because he's having a hard time getting to the end of the program. He did 12 out of his 14 planned elements, including the quad (which seemed so easy!), a 3F-3T combo, the 2 step sequences, 3 spins - and more triples, but I don't remember which ones... So apparently, apart from a better condition in order to have some energy left for the last minute of the program, all he's missing is the 3A!
So it's all good news, yes!
