Hi! Last night, the long programs from the N.H.K. Trophy in Japan were shown on American TV (ESPN). I was disappointed that Stefan's progam was not shown. Does anyone know where he stands in the final placements? Also, I'm wondering whether Stefan will go to Turin to compete for Germany in the Winter Olympics. I certainly hope so! ;D I have heard that the DEU (German Figure Skating Federation) would only send Stefan to Turin if he finished in the top six at the Grand Prix series. What about German Nationals? If he wins, he would not go to Turin? In my opinion, Stefan is Germany's best male skater. Why would the DEU not send him to Turin? Wondering,

Stefan has met the NOC Standard (at least he finished in the top six at the Grand Prix series). Now he has to qualify national at the German Nationals. The DEU will certainly nominate him to go to Torino, because he's clearly the best German mail skater - whoever else? ;-)

German Nationals are from December, 27th to 30th: 29/12: 18:30 - kp men 30/12: 15:00 - lp men That's why Stefan and the others aren't at the Silvester-Gala in Oberstdorf.

Yes, does anyone know fur sure whether Stefan will compete in the Olympic Games in Torino? I'm rooting for Stefan. Johnny Weir just won his third US National Championship, and Yevgeni Plushenko, the Russian National Champion, will be in Turino - along with other top skaters. Stefan deserves to be up there with them and, with the skate of his life, he could certainly medal - and more....... I hope that Stefan is now training, practicing, and practicing....... not over-training, but really training well and especially working on strength, endurance, and stamina, and his jumps. Please let us know any updates. Yours sincerely,

I think it's sure, that Stefan will go to Turin. Smalun only stands a chance if he'll win a medal in Lyon. But I guess that's impossible.

hmmm...well, he didn´t win a medal, but was still better than Stefan... but I think it doesn´t change the fact that it´s STEFAN going to Olys
