yay! Thanks Dee for finding it and Miss atlantis for posting it! I remember this commentary, it was great, Tomas is very frank person and fun to listen! Translation:Tomas: ...the 10th place is quite a big disappointment for me, because I came here with different ambitions and already after the SP when the difference between me and the last warm up group was less than a point I was sad about it. But it was how it was and I had to cope with it. And now when I remember my program retroactively, and I will be recapitulating it many times probably, I am sorry about many things there that cost me a lot of points. and that difference to the front wasn‘t as big and I didn’t have to fall so much, I don’t know what I was doing. so when I look at Klimkin, where he raised and where I stayed, it really irks. So if the 10th place two years ago in Budapest was success, the 10th place from Lyon is a bit sad for me. Nevertheless I am glad that it is at least the top ten so that next year we can go two Czech guys on Europeans, which will be definetely good for figure skating in CZ and that is one thing that pleases me. then I am glad I put a quad to my program and that it counted as a quad. I am sorry that I fell, but what can I do now, I can only learn from it for the next time. Commentator: Let’s go from the beginning, first a good triple axel, that was encouragement before the quad, but that one didn’t work. Why? Have you already analyzed it with your team or have you left it for later? Tomas: We will definetely leave it for later, there is not much to analyze, during todays practice I was jumping quad-triple and we believed, the warm up was quite hectic, but it wasn’t ideal yesterday as well, so I don’t know if I shuld look for a problem in the warmup. Anyway the quad wasn’t good and it has to work next time – it has its place in program and once I have to jump it finally, we are practicing it for quite a time and confidently, not with falls. It didn’t work this time... Commentator: If it works in Torino, we won’t be angry at all... Tomas: Yes, and my team won’t be as well. Commentator: Then there were other falls and other problems, actually we didn’t see any combnation. Was it a result of that unsuccessful toeloop or it just wasn’t your day? Tomas: Well, the day wasn’t mine, I know it for sure now, but after that quad when I was picking myslef up, it wasn’t as bad as when I stumbled there two times then, right in front of the judges, I hope they didn‘t see it because I was too close to the barrier, so I pray they wouldn’t watch it through the monitors. And then double lutz, which upset me a bit and I started to think differently, I probably didn’t think at all, it was quite warm in here today, I don’t know, probably my brain went off, because a normal person would do at least a triple toe after that lutz because it is possible. It is not such problem for skaters that skate on a level as I’d like to, so I felt that program was a bit disturbed and I wanted to put the combinatin somewhere but I wasn’t able to, it didn’t go, after the axel I couldn’t because I was lying on the ground again, after the rittberger I was also wobbling about the ice, and I thought I was about to leave already, because two falls in the jumps that were supposed to hold me up, being in the second half of the program and they are difficult, didn’t support me at all, on the contrary they struck my confidence down. At the end I wanted to do a flip and a combination but again, I did something I didn’t want to do at all, I don’t even remember what, and then it was the end and so on. Commentator: It was an experience, glad that he’s healthy ...blabla... What are your inner goals? Tomas: Well, I won’t tell my most inner goals to anyone, it depends only on me, certainly also on the team that I have around, but I have a great team, if I had to name ... rather not, I would forget someone... they did a great piece of work, so did I, I think, on ice, during practices. and that’s why I am double disappointed that it went wrong in the final program. anyway it is a great exprience, we skated right before the best ones, I drew nr. 18. Actually I was 7th, the best in that group, so it should have been like that, but unfortunately it didn’t go as it should, it is a lesson for next time, a motivation, so as a whole it should have only positive aspects for the next competitions. Commentator: So that was a very sincere confession from Tomas Verner and I thank for that! Tomas: I thank very much for invitation.
