OK, Pavla, I'll be glad, take whatever you want Here is one: Verner: the silver medal is in safe alreadyBuried in emotions, he slept very little. Then he ran to the rink to support ladies and especially one of them: his friend Carolina Kostner from Italy. The figure skater Tomas Verner stepped into the Warsaw rink as a European silver medalist for the first time How a European medal is celebrated? With sport. At first I didn’t want to sleep. Almost the whole night I was playing table tennis and football. First with a normal ball, but the air-conditioning cover didn’t survive so we took a plush ball rather. At least the windows stayed alright. Did you sleep at all then?4 hours. Without dreams. There was a mess of thoughts in my head. The golden Brian Joubert said, that he haven’t experienced a bigger stress in a competition. Is it the same for you?Brian also said: My advantage was that Tomas still doesn’t have many experiences with a fight for the title. He’s right. You have to get used to something like this, not imagine it at home in your bed. My free skate wasn’t exactly how I imagined it. And I have to work on that in the future. After your skate you waited for your competitors‘ marks and roared twice. Relieve or joy?Russian jurnalists asked me what should it mean. I didn’t know what to answer. Euphory from a medal. I couldn't affect it, the emotions just had to go out. And you went to the podium for the first time...That was beautiful. I have always dreamed about it. Already when I went to see Europeans in Bratislava, I envied the podium to Yagudin and Plushenko. And see, I’m there as well. You were looking at the czech flag, but listened tot he french anthem. At least for a moment, didn’t came to your mind that the anthem could be different? Not in that moment. I was just thinking how beautiful it is to stand on the podium. Later it occured to me, that I could have the title. Dring the afternoon practice I skated my program with 2 quads and a triple axel. But there alre plenty of practice champions. I need to learn how to make difference between pratice and competition. Where did you put the medal? I locked it into the hotel safe just to be sure. I hold it high very much, I don’t want to lose it. Will you bring another one from the Tokio worlds? It will be different. Skaters from Asia and America are great. Though I don’t think I can do less than them. And: it isn’t not that long when the European podium equaled the worlds podium. So?No, I’ll rather stay back on Earth. I want to be in top 10. Anything more will be great. You’ll have almost home atmosphere in Tokio, a Japanese fanclub companies you around the world. Can you say something in Japanese?Just konishiwa, arigato, sayonara. And count to ten. Still from the times I was practicing karate. You will also get a check for the second place. What will you do with it?I don’t even know how much it is. 16500 dollars, some 350 thousand CZK.I’ll put it to my account and will be saving for pension. Well ... I guess it will go to training. One season costs more than a million crowns. When you felt the worst during figure skating?Perhaps while getting up too early. I had to be awake at 4:30 to be on ice at 5:45. Then school and practice again. I can’t imagine ti anymore. I can sleep longer now. I thought you would say: The worst I felt when I was injured in 2005.You’re right. But I’m trying to forget that year. I was afraid whether I will be able to skate. The prgnosis weren’t optimistic. And today? How is your ankle? It’s not an obstacle. I feel it after a big practice load or during too much stress and tiredness during competition. I know it won’t be as earlier but I learned to live with it. I won’t be thinking of pain. Your father told us that you started to skate because of a girl. Tell us how it happened? In kindergarten I fell in love with a girl, who did figure skating. Our mothers knew each other and suggested that I go to skating lessons with her. Her name was Stepanka. She quit after three years. I stayed. So if it wasn’t her you wouldn’t mabye hold a silver medal. Are you still seeing each other? No, for years. I don’t know if she would even recognized me. Your big friend is now an italian skater Carolina Kostner......and I have to go and support her in a while. She’s a great girl. She was very happy about my silver, she came to the ice right ahead and today morning even to the hotel room. Will she copy your silver? No, I wish her gold. After all she had to go through she deserves it. She sustained and injury in summer, she’s getting back to the ice. She worked really hard.

Verner grows up into a new Sabovcik
His coach Vlasta Kopøivová said about him: "He is a chatty droll." Tomáš worked out an exhibition number Pantomima some time ago. He pushe a fictious piano on the ice, he ran off a singer from there and danced rock'n'roll. "He sometimes gets crazy ideas, but it could be worse," his coach Kopøivová said with a smile.
Together with this all the figure skater is a maximalist as well. "He never wanted skate for 8th, 9th places," affirmed his father, the head physician from Èeské Budìjovice.
His son as a teenager even announced: "I want to be Nedvìd on the ice. I want to show to the world that here are not only big names from Russia. That a guy from a small country can be a threat as well."
His Japanese fanclub follows him at each competetion. 3 Japanese girls fell in love with him. They brought the big banner "Tomáš, you are our sunshine"(*we know whose banner it is) in Warszaw as well. "They are very nice. They even came to the Nationals," said Verner after his SP.
He suddenly became the star. American TV ESPN as well as Eurosport wanted the interview, he replied per internet on questions of a Japanese magazine. "I am busy, but it does not matter," he assured.
HIS ANKLE IS TEN YEARS OLDER He became a figure skater by chance. He as 6 year-old fell in love with a small girl from a figure skating club. And he stayed there (in the club). He landed a triple jump when he was 11 years old. He debuted at Euros at 15 and he landed as the first Czech male ever a very difficukt triple axel.
"He likes it among men bet than in juniors," Kopøivová figured. The worl understood that a great talent was growing up in the Czech republic. But the talent must have matured. And it wasn't always easy.
He cut his instep at the next Euros and he was forced to withrdaw. He went through the biggest depression in 2005. He ended in a qualification at Worlds in Moscow, he was worried very much by his long-time ankle injury. The landings of the jumps disrupted the gristle. "It hurt like hell and did not recover for long time. I tended to feel very sceptical about it. I was saying myself: Fate gives me bumps under my waist (*like it is not fair)."
Doctors announced to Verner that his ankel would never be the same again. " I was shocked, consternated." His father, head physician admitts now: "Shabbiness of Tomas' joints corrspond to the human, who is 10 years older than him."
Eventhough this all Verner did not give up. His parents helped him financelly to go to the practice sessions to Colorado Springs in summer 2003. He arrived to US, took out 2000 dollars from his bag, he paid in advance for the lease of the ice. " Just after this they let me practise."
But the place what changed him became Oberstdorf. He found there his 2nd home, he spends there around 1/2 year. The company of the world greatest skaters gives him a huge motivation. "Work, go, go. The steps must be bombastic. Judges will stare and show higher marks," well-known choreographer Sinitsyn screams at him.
He is on the ice with Italian skater Carolina Kostner as well. " We compete who endures longer to work on a maximum level." He made final exams, studies 1st year at the faculty of sport, he is thinking about studium of psychology. " I am not a small guy who looks up to big ones anymore."
He got rid of exaggerated respect of 4T a year ago. Also because of that he was competing for medals in Warszaw. A new banner of Japanese fans announced "New Sabovcik". " It would not be bad if I was like him," Verner said.
But he can reach much more.

but that banner is not from the Japanese LOL! it's miiiinnne I'm pointing this out always when they write it (and they do it all the time). Maybe someone should finally tell them who's the rightful owner Verner celebrated with a table soccerThose 16 years of hard work payed off. Similarly to this the 20 year old figure skater Tomas Verner relieved himself on Thursday night when he got a silver medal at the Europeans. Yeasterday, he already loudly supported his Czech colleagues, but his excitement from the medal was still alive. You left for th Championships with a goal to be in top 6, which seemed logical after two 10th places. You didn’t think about a medal even a little? To be honest, I did, because I saw my competitors this season, and knew my shape in practice. I had the desire and the energy, but I didn’t want to talk about it. You know that – he speaks too much, but the results are poor. So overall, top 6 would have been great, but medal is absolutely amazing. Did you manage to celebrate the success? There wasn’t time. ALso because my room mate David Vincour was preparing himself for his Fridays fredance. After doping control we returned to the hotel at 00:30 but we were lucky – someone forgot to lock hotel „entertainment centre“, so all the competitors competed again, this time in table soccer and table tennis. Only the French didn’t come. Maybe they were celebrating Brian’s gold more traditionally, but that waits for me too. Tell us, where will you put your first medal? For now it is in the hotel safe, when I come back to Borovany at Ceske Budejovice, I’ll find a place in a show case. My parents wouldn’t want it to be somewhere away. And neither would I. According to Valsta Korpivova you are hardworking, but a bit too much chatty. Is it true?I love contact with people, I love to talk, so it would be true. But I’m not that much talkative, am I? (laughs) Definitely not. Your coach said also tht this quality helps you with learning languages – how many can you speak?AT the press conferences I have not problems with answering in English and German is almost my second mother tongue, because I train in Oberstdorf. Now I added learning of Italian and fro my competitors i caught a bit of Russian, which is quite close to us. These languages I want to finalize. You were so happy after you got the silver - what went through your head? That I have satisfied also my team, because I had years when nothing was going right, also because of injury. Beside my parents, it ir my coach, choreographer Sinicyn, Michael Huth with whom I work at Oberstdorf and many more people. When did you start with skating? When I was five/six years old. I fell in love with a girl in a kindergarten, who skated. She quite aftert three years and I stayed. The last czech medals were for pair Kovarikova/Novotny in 1995, they won gold at Worlds. Is it a challenge?Worlds are going to be in March, but the title is probably unreal. According to results this season, Japanese, Americans and Canadians are great – add Russiands and French – these countries will be fighting mostly. I will try my best to strenghten my position. Second in Europe, doesn’t sound bad, does it?

Verner attacks the title at EC, so far he is first- mostly description of the program, the elements, plus some blurbs around There is on sub-article "Verner has won the audience in Warsaw" Smiling czech figure skater Tomas Verner has won the Warsaw audience today and showed his joy from the first place approprieately. After his skate he admitted that the whole time he was concentrated on a button, that has fallen off his costume before his skate. „Maybe I’ll tear off somethign before the LP as well.“ he joked. “I wanted to repair it somehow, but it wasn’t possible, so my sleeve was flying up and down the whole time. Instead of style I was caoncentrated on the button.“ He really enjoyed his first place, he showed his happines, screams, smiles and stamping to the audience already at the rink. None of the competitors has done that. „Today I’m the leader, that’s why I can rejoice. I’ll have dinner, I’ll put my head in order for the free skate.“ described Verner his plan. He didn’t want to speak about his chances for title. „I’ll be fighting like a lion.“ Today he started as the last out of 32 skaters. „It really wasn’t easy, and after a 45 minutes break after the warm up it is difficult to concentrate. And that button...“ he described his feelings. He didn’t see how his competitors did. „I didn’t watch, I couldn’t feint, I just wanted to pay interest on my trainings and put everything in it.“ he said. „I also want to do it in the free skate, then it could be fine.“

Verner fought and brings silver from ECCzech figure skater Tomáš Verner finished ECH in the 2nd place. Brian Joubert from France won. Belgian Kevin van der Perren came 3rd. Unfortunately Verner did not keep the leading spot after SP, but he has got 1st medal for the Czech republic after 12 years.
Verner was missing in the FS the ease from his SP.
He fell on the 1st planned 4t and the 2nd one, which he had shown at Nationals in combo, even did not try.
His triple axel was not that sure as well and the 3F for the combo in the end of the FS did not work out as well.
His jumping chasiness was compensated by spins and footwork sections.. Thanks to this he was rewarded with high marks for choreography, skating skills and other PCS and he earned his personal best as well as in SP.
Contrary of the wednesday performance Verner did not jump by joy and excitement this time and he had to wait, if someone from the next 3 skaters would beat him.
Just Belgian skated better FS, but he did not catch Verner's lead from SP. But he won 1st medal in history for his country. He won over Sergei Davydov just by 0,07 point amd could be happy with his bronze medal.
(the rest is about Joubert) the smaller artcle will be translated laterz:)

Verner celebrated silver with gingerbread and steakHome baked gingerbread from his mother nad a decent steak from his father – that is how the czech figure skater Tomas Verner celebrated his silver form Euros. There wasn’t time for bigger celebrations with his friends or fans. Now he has exams at school and soon he will return to the practice marathon. In month and a half the World championships in Japan starts and here the first medalist from EC after 12 years will be confirming his belonging to the elite. „There has been specultions that the cause of his stumble during ehxibition in Poland were his wild celebrations. but it wasn’t because of alcohol or because I would stay awke too late. It was al just a tiredness.“ explained the czech silver medalist. 20year old from Pisek added two another medals to his silver on Tuesday – two commemorative ones, from marshal of South Bohemia and mayor of Ceske Budejovice. Marshal Jan Zahradnik also gave him a check with 30 000 CZK. From the mayor Juraj Thoma, he received the encyclopedy of Ceske Budejovice. „I hope that in the next edition, the notable personalities part will include your name.“ Thoma said. Skater from Ceske Budejovice returned from Warsaw only on Monday. He had some problems at the airport when they didn’t want to let him in with the huge stack of toys from fans, but finally he could bring them to the plane. In Borovany, where he lives, a dinner but also a lot of messages from fans waited for him. „When I saw it all on my web site, it would all do a decent anatomy book,“ the czech representative said. And just the exam from anatomy will be waiting for Verner, the student of Prague’s Faculty of physical education and Sport in few days. The czech figure skating talent knows, where he will put his european medal. For a set of two small ones for SP and LP and a big silver medal for all he already set one shelf apart. „I think I’ll let there a bit of free space. The shelf is quite big, so I hope I will be able to fill it up.“
