ok, you see I'm bored in the evenings, so here's the first part
There is some Hi or Congratulations almost in every question so I obviously didn't write that, but Tomas thanks everyone.
Q: Hi Tomas, where will you practice now – resp. how long are you staying in Prague, when do you go to Oberstdorf?
A: I’m going to Oberstdorf now on Sunday and I’ll be back in Prague in a week.
Q:How is Sarah Meier? Does she have a bf? :-P I wish you also a medal from Worlds!
A: I don’t know about Sarah’s boyfriend, but otherwise she’s very beautiful young lady and I think that she wouldn’t stay boyfriend-less without consequence.
Q:Hi Tomas, I want to congratulate to you.. Do you have friends in skating, I mean beside the czech noes.
A: Skating world is all besed on friendly relations, we athletes get along well. Not only inone cathegory, across all cathegoriess.
Q: I noticed that you and Carolina K have the same coach. Who it is and is that why you two have so good relationship?
A:Our friendship with Caro is not based on the coach Huth. Otherwise, you couldn’t find a better person and better technically provided coach.
Q: Considering fs is a very demanding sport with its every day practices on and off ice and many promising skaters in age 14-16 thinks of quitting or really quits, what would you tell them? How would you support them? Did you have some kind of crisis and how did you cope up with it?
A: I haven’t had a crisis of this kind yet. I would like to tell everyone that the hard work put into this sport always pays off - in any form. In the happiness from yourself or in a shape of a medal like in my case. I’d like to tell them that to hold on and overcome the hard times in sports life helps also in a normal life.
Q:How would you explain that the Russians totally burned out in Warsaw?
A: That is a difficult question. I would like to think that it is because we managed to push them aside and we are going to be the winners. There can be many reasons, but I’d love that one the best.
Q: Which competitors will be fighting for medals at Worlds? Japanese? Americans?
A: Primarily Japanese, Americans, Canadians, also Chinese, but we can’t forget Europeans, French and Russians.
Q: Did you see what happened to ski jumper Mazoch? Aren’t you afraid that such an awful fall can happen during skating?
A: I haven’t seen the fall itself but I know about it from the media in a very detailed way I think. There’s a lot of awful falls during skating, one can not avoid them, one can only learn how to fall.
Q: Do you notice the support of the audience before and during your skate? IN warsaw you had bigger applause than Joubert after the SP, that would be pity not to notice
A: Support of the audience is one of the most important parts of the competition. Audience can help you to forget about nervs and in the times of physical exhaust helps to finish the skate in a good pace. So with this I am grateful to all viewers that supported me either at the rink or at home by the TV. Thank you.
Q: Did you notice the fans, especially the czech ones (and the foreign too, still your fan club is bigger abroad) in Warsaw? How did oyu like to perform at the exhibition... you enjoyed it, didn’t you? Do you know the czech figure skating forum? Do you visit it or you don’t know about it? Good luck in Tokio.
A: I already spoke about the fans, it is true about the fan club, but I treasure everyone who supports me and I everyone who I can make happy with my performance. The exhibition was a very new experience to me and the more I enjoyed it. I know the czech forum but I am not a frequent visitor, I check my web site mostly after the competitions. Thanks for wishes for Tokio.
Q: What leads you to the choice of your music and costumes?
A: Primarily it is the work with the choreographer, and it depends how much the music impresses me or not. And all that in the first impression.
Q:1. When do you think the judges robbed you the most2.Can yo uimagine yourelf as a pair skater? Who would you like to skate with? 3.Does you little sister skate? 4.What did you think of when a few yeras ago there were speculations that you should change coach? 5.Bach or blues?
A: 1. I wouldn’t comment on that. 2. I can’t, pairs is connected witha huge responsibility for you rpartner and I don’t know if I could bear it. I would take responsibility for a guy, but we don’t have these kind of pairs so I’m not daring the responsibility for ladies. 3.Kacenka is a gymnast. 4. Those were speculations out of the team, not mine. 5. I can’t say, both possibilities work for me.
Q:Suddenly you have to cope with a popularity, interest from the side of media (both home and foreign), that haven’t paid that much interest to figure skaing. Not only your fans but also the wide czech population have out you into a position of a popular personality. How do you feel about that, how does it affect you? Do you have a privacy at all? Have you also met some negative reactions?
A: I haven’t had any negative experiences and I hope I won’t have. I like the interest in myself but now I an going back to my practce. I am trying to preserve my privacy.
Q:Do you have any figure skating role model? Man, lady or a pair?
A: Evgeni Plushenko and Alexei Yagudin. And more from the former Czechoslovakia, but I don’t want to leave out someone, because those are people that inspire me in my further work. I think you know who I would mention.
Q: Are you gay? How many percent gay are among figure skaters?
A: NO, I AM NORMAL! The bad reputation we have mostly because of overseas skaters.
Q: Do you think about putting a quad in your SP at Worlds? Who will be a favrite according to you?
A: Brian Joubert will be a favorite. We still haven’t talked ybout a quad in a SP, but noone knows what might finally happen.
Q:Do the awards (figure skating personanlity of the year etc) motivate you in your career or do you attach importance to different personal values? Who gives you the most confidence from the psychical side lately?
A: I gain the confidence from my team and family. All the awards motivate me in my work.
Q: Congratulations!!!
A: Thank you.
Q: Football or hockey? Sparta or Slavia (
czech football teams)? Topolanek or Paroubek (
politicians)? Blondes or brunettes? Beer or wine?
A: I love to kick the football. Ceske Budejovice. I don’t want to meddle with politics, but I received a thank-you fax from mr Topolanek for the representation of Czech republic, so not only with this he’s won more of my sympathies. My girlfried is a brunette. None of it.
Q:What is your favorite jump, which is the most difficult one?
A: I enjoy the quad toeloop the most, even if in LP I didn’t show it the way I planned. I don’t have the most difficult jump yet, but I think it will be another quad I start to practice, no matter which one.
Q: How are the relationships among male and female skaters? Any relationships, romances?
A: Romances are everywhere, including figure skating. Our sport is connected with emotions and when emotions are released... I think you know what I’m talking about. But generally our relations are great.
Q:How did you celebrate your silver? Will there be any exhibition sin CzRep? Dou you have any thoughts about what will you show in Tokio? Of which skaters are you most „afraid of“?
A: I am not afraid of anyone, I have respect for them. I had a great feeling about my victory in the SP, I can’t describe it in one word, but there wasn’t any time for celebrations beause of the LP the next day. I will show the same programs, only the free skate should be changed in the first two jumps and closing combination
Q: What didy your competitors say about your reactions on silver medal? Were they surprised?
A: My competitord desisted from coments.
Q: Tomas, I support you very much, SP in Poland was great, I only think that you „copy“ the unforgetable russian skater Yagudin to much.
A: I don’t share your opinion, but if I'd approximated to Yagudin and his programs at least a little, it would be the greatest honour for me.
